I'm sorry Seun, but you're not serious about this. I don't even think you're a software developer because what's this backward stuff. Why not just pass in keyword checks and let the algorithm auto ban people that specify tribe in comments. You can have leeway spots where tribes and ethnicity can be mentioned freely, like having a group for culture. So any post where there is to be mention of tribe or ethnicity MUST be posted under culture group. Even then, the Mods will have to check the comments under that group to know defaulters and ban them. You can also ban people who use certain insulting keywords. Otherwise, Nairaland would be ungovernable and the platform would get pulled down permanently

Tell ṣeun seems he is not seeing this, Why will a criminal have a particular name that is common to a region or tribe and you will be penalize by ascribing that criminal to the perceived tribe or region...common sense.

It's very painful especially if you're not involved. Just like other countries believed that Nigerians are criminals. Once u tell anyone that you're a Nigerian, they'll start looking at u as a criminal. But do we keep fighting them for talking about the obvious truth because we're not all into crimes or we need to work on ourselves and our bad reputation?

We keep seeing a particular tribe being guilty of drug dealing, child trafficking, fake products etc. What are the people from that tribe doing to reduce or climb down on these crimes? I didn't see anything much being done about it in their region. They talk less about it, cos it's normal to them. Many of them do not believe in legit hustle and this is dragging them and our beloved country into disrepute and if u talk about it, they'll say u hate their tribe.

In addition, Nairalanders mock Islam, Prophet Muhammad and Muslims here every day, no one reported this platform for islamophobia. The owner of this forum on his own discovered that Muslims hardly insult Jesus or litter Christian threads with insults and then decided to reduce it by putting oath in Muslim threads. Despite that, many Nairalanders flood Muslim threads, proclaim faith and sha'hadah just to have the opportunity to mock and ridiculed Muslims and their beliefs.

We (Muslims) won't report this Forum for islamophobia because of what some unscrupulous elements are saying about Islam, even though I know that some Muslims are giving us out to be ridiculed, I know it's not Seun's fault and he does not in anyway support their actions. I'd rather clarify their misconceptions about Islam and take note of some salient points raised regarding our misactions as Muslims and then talk my fellow Muslims out of it with wisdom.

Las las you're still using manual approach to fight tribalism on nl. Who says the mod will not start taking side?

Simply include a dislike or downgrade button to people's comments and posts so other users can rate their tribalistic slurs appropriately.
