I would disagree.

I will be very BRUTAL, he plays like an aboki, no football ⚽ intelligence and very limited technical ability.

Plenty of running and stamina but almost no end product. Aina is not a LB but has far more football intelligence technical ability and end 🔚 PRODUCT. In this regard Aina is better, don't know much about Bruno apart from doesn't seem to be getting much game time and is not first choice.

Why is he selected for the SE 🤔

You complain about racism, yet, here you use a derogatory ethnic slur against Sadiq because you detest him.

You then go on to call Trump a racist. A fvcking hypocrite you are.

KC is a major doubt for Afcon ...

It seems he will be replaced...

It's left for Jpes to confirm and authenticate his unavailable...

So Nigeria doesn't have better midfielders? Ndidi, Iwobi, Onyeka, Onyedika and Yusuf are joke to you?

Your proposition lacks MERIT and is completely out of context.

Let me reiterate the substance of my proposition where Tim Iroegbunam is concerned. Which is that there are too many top quality midfielders in England that he has to displace.

The proposition you present is nonsensical.

Reality check ✔️, Not one of our midfielders will get into the England set up , actually not one of our players will get into the England team.

Why is he selected for the SE 🤔

Aina does not have much football intelligence. Amazingly athletic though. Reece James' athleticism without the composure and passing abilities. Very good one-on-one, until he meets a winger that doesn't rely on physicality to beat his opponent.

Zaidu can be very erratic. He does some things very well though, like overlapping and crossing. Also decent one-on-one. There's a rawness to his game that I just don't like, it gives me the feel of poor coaching in his formative years.

Bruno IMO is the best of the three. Intelligent and non-erratic, keeps things simple. Very conservative with recycling play and keeping possession, which makes him the most stable of the three, but also the least likely to contribute to the attack. Gives the feel of a CB converted to LB.

Overall it depends on the opponent and game plan. Some games would be best with an Aina, some with a Zaidu, some with a Bruno.

Super Eagles Wallop Al Gharbia FC 12-0 In Warm-Up Match

The Super Eagles walloped Al Gharbia FC, a local team based in Dubai 12-0 in a training match in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ademola Lookman scored four goals, while Victor Osimhen, and Moses Simon grabbed a brace each.

Also, Sadiq Umar and Ahmed Musa weighed in with a goal each, while there were also two own goals to complete the dozen-goal rout.

Calvin Bassey as well as substitutes Alex Iwobi and Bright Osayi-Samuel all gave a good account of themselves as an aggressive Super Eagles team laid seige on their opponent’s defence line in a one-sided encounter.

The team, Al Gharbia, play in the third division and paraded a Nigerian midfielder

A post on the team’s official X account noted that it was indeed a comfortable win for the Eagles, adding that coach Jose Peseiro must be pleased his team are firing from all angles.

It noted, however, that the bigger test for the Eagles will come on Monday when they face another AFCON-bound team Guinea in a final warm-up game before they jet out to Lagos.

“Osimhen’s overall play showed that he is in fine shape to justify his coronation as the best player in Africa at the AFCON.

“Fulham defender Bassey was calm and collected in the heart of the back after he started the test match alongside Portugal-based Chidozie Awaziem.

“Both Iwobi and Osayi Samuel did not start the game, but they impressed when they were introduced to the fray.

“Late replacement for injured Wilfred Ndidi, Alhassan Yusuf, also saw action as he played the last 15 minutes of today’s match, which was played behind closed doors at the Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

“NPFL lone representative Olorunleke Ojo will later replace Francis Uzoho, who started in goal.

“Enyimba shot stopper Ojo kept out a penalty to ensure a clean sheet for the team.

“Coach Jose Peseiro made many changes in the game as he tried to have a closer look at all options available before the team’s opening AFCON game next Sunday against Equatorial Guinea,” it said.

It added that Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface and South Africa-based goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali did not see action as they were probably rested ahead of the Guinea clash.

The 34th edition of the AFCON is expected to kick off on Jan. 13 and end on Feb. 11. (NAN)

AFCON Historical facts

Nigeria 🇳🇬 has never won an AFCON with Cameroon as one of the participant.
In 1980, 1994, and 2013 when Nigeria won the AFCON, Cameroon didn't qualify for them.

Hello guys, Nigeria are the only country with as few as five midfielders while others were listing 7,8, or 9. (don't mention RSA because they're not a top team).

Egypt listed nine.

Zambia twelve!

I started seeing Nigeria Nigeria Nigeria everywhere. We made virtually all semifinals, how and why we've won only 3 Afcon is surprising to me.

I once donkeys 🐴 ago said the NFF should very quickly cap Tomori before he BLOWS as well as Eze they did not.

Apart from Iwobi none of our midfielders will smell the Aston villa bench including Ndidi.

Tim is on the bench with Brazilian international Douglas Luiz standing in his way.

The midfielders he would have to contend with are Alhassan, Onyedika, Onyeka, Aribo, Ndidi ( and for some highly delusional Nwakali)

My answer is a very loud 🔊 and resounding capital YES.

Are you saying Laliga, Ligue 1, and Portuguese league are not good enough? lol!

What I'm saying is his attempts today sustain a career in a league one ended in failure , nobody wanted him at Nantes and the French league one. Simply not good enough.

He then descend to Turkey and La Liga in very obscure mainly relegation bound clubs. That's not quality but mediocrity. And had the ignoble honour of going to Croatia league 😯

He is now in Boavista it's not a top team it's an average team with very basic average players.

Many of you don't like it seems, the comparison of monetary 💰 cost as an indicator of value and quality. You take the exception over the general established reality. Best player's get paid the better wages it's very simple.

When you are not so good you get poorer wages , Awaziem has been playing in Europe for a decade more or less. But look where he has played tha tells you something undeniable,he is bang average or below.

To put things into perspective below the weekly wage bill of Boavista and Bolton in English League One.

Now honestly speaking 🗣️ I'm not sure Boavista can beat Bolton.

I wouldn't use the word "aboki" on the northern boys ,although it's not a bad word. Aboki actually means my friend. But ,northerners are not gifted in football. They are good runners but when it comes to technical abilities they are very poor. From Tijani Babangida, Ahmed Musa, Sani Kaita , Sanusi etc. They are tireless and good runners but that's just about it.

If I am looking for talents in Nigeria I wouldn't spend a lot of time in the north. The funny thing is they have great numbers in the age grade competition but not one has made any impact. The NFF kept pushing them into these under age teams but at the end, the southern boys always come ahead.

Side note: what is Ahmed Musa still doing in the team. The presence of Ahmed Musa in the team is a testament that Nigeria will never develop. Its a shame. Musa is not a Messi Ronaldo or even Kanu Nwankwo....it angers me.

Your stuck in mediocrity and lacking in knowledge both theory and participative quality experiential. Essentially you still deh village .

Quality midfielders don't get type cast into a one dimensional straight jacket 🧥 of one role, DM.

Ngole Kante is primarily a multi skilled and dimensional midfielder that turns defence into attack and has innovation with creativity, creating multiple attacking options and contributions. You would not call him a strict DM , he is so much more.

You clearly have no idea 😞

The same goes for Rice, Casemiro, Bissouma, Caicedo, Rodri, etc. The DM role is not so restrictive anymore for the top teams its more of a HM ( Holding Midfielder) where you become ambidextrous and multi skilled shifting seamlessly from one position to the other connecting and determining the nature of play, offensive and defensive.

Rodri last season in Manchester city had the highest number of passes in the EPL, 189 higher than Lewis Dunk in second, and 546 , Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, the closest midfield player. He has also had more touches than anyone in the league.

So when I look at midfielders, if you are limited to just playing primarily defensive, little or no creativity and offensive ability. You are not going far and I can't take you far. That will be the basis of my player assessment.

You went from calling Douglas Luiz a DM (because you said Ndidi couldn't get into the Aston villa team) to giving a lecture on how he is a versatile player 🤣😂 Nice one

Still it doesn't explain why Tim has made less than 5 appearance this season..if he is so rated, he would be getting quality minutes
