You didn't submit bank statement uote author=YeyeBoyfriend post=127265807]I applied for a visiting visa, which I stated in my previous post.
VFS doesn’t take job seekers application
I went with

1: invitation letter
2: police character
3: traveling insurance
4: flight itinerary (reservation)
5: copies of previous visas and copies of valid and expired passports data-pages all in color printings/photocopies
The rule is you have to travel first, register in and have family appartment and forward to the embassy...they will give her

uote author=DARLYNBOI post=127478170]My student visa for a Master programme just got approved in November (last month) but my wife who applied along with me as a dependant is yet to receive any call from the embassy till date and I am in panic mode because we intend to leave Nigeria latest by Jan ending and we have started selling our household items.
I can't leave her alone in Nigeria because her parents are no more alive and it will definitely be dangerous to live apart because our marriage is just about 3years old.
I need someone to advise me and wish to know how student with similar experience were able to secure approval for their spouse and what is the longest period it took from experience.
I think I got it.

The appointment opens at regular interval on vfs global portal.

But at what time of the day or night?

Anyone has experience?

I'll keep updating if I get something.

i sent mail to the embassy regarding appointment.

part of the automatic response i got is this:-
"Applications for National Visas are submitted at the Portuguese Embassy in Abuja, prior scheduling is MANDATORY, available through: https://pedidodevistos.mne.gov.pt/VistosOnline/ . Starting from December 15th, the appointments for National Visa will also be available through VFS Global website. "

I will appreciate if you can guide me more, and also there is no such job seeker visa on their questionnaire for appointment.

Guide me more please! i really need the appointment.

hi Mr Bostin,

could you please ask and share the time of the day he was able to book the appointment on VFS Global.

Based on my experience , there is a particular time when either the embassy or VFS Global will open appointment slots for booking.

Kind regards.

All of you , no one has answered my questions.

I will rephrase.

For Job seeker visa.

what is the process for gathering documents and applying?
From Stage 1 to appointment, someone should post a draft and attach link.

Everyone seem not to have a clear picture of how this works.

It was open for about 2-3 days this week. Sunday to Tuesday to when Nairaland was down.
I was told by someone on Nairaland I had been gisting with. The news couldn't spread because Nairaland was down.
I checked on Wednesday but it was closed, no more slots. Only available days were January 2024.
I was able to book for January 30, 2024 at VFS Abuja this past Monday.
I sent mail to Vfs global and they confirmed they now receive Job Seeker visa application in both Lagos and Abuja.

I think they open it from time to time.

Traveling with 10 days left on your Schengen visa isn’t a problem, however, you can’t convert it to anything other than the same Schengen visa, and if you wish to do so below are the requirements.

You can book appointment online or by phone once you arrive, or go to imigrante.sef.pt for more details.

EXTENDING STAY IN PORTUGAL
SCHENGEN VISA
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

Applications for the extension of stay are submitted in any SEF’s directorate or regional delegation, on a standard form, signed by the applicant or his/her legal representative, or on-line, holding the necessary documentation as follows:

Application delivered personally, signed by the applicant (where the applicant is either a minor or legally disabled person the form shall be signed by his / her legal representative)
Two recent, identical photographs, in colour with blank background, and easily identifiable (only for appointments at Aveiro or Braga SEF bureau)

Passport or any other valid travel document
Whenever the applicant is a minor or legally disabled person, the application should be submitted and signed by his/her legal representative

Evidence of sufficient means of subsistence, as per the provisions of Order number 1563/2007, of 11/12

Evidence that the applicant has adequate accommodation

Permission for checking criminal records, where the stay is intended to exceed 90 days (except for under 16 years old)

Return travel ticket, or, in duly proven and well-documented situations, booking travel arrangements with clear return date, where the stay is intended to exceed 90 days

Documentary evidence of the motives for extending the validity, or the duration, of stay must be delivered, including:
For humanitarian reasons (in case of sudden illness of the visa holder or of a family member it is mandatory to present a medical certificate)
For reasons of force majeure ( i.e., last minute alteration of flight schedule by the air carrier due to adverse weather conditions)
For serious / severe personal motives (i.e. unexpected delays in completing deals or transactions in the course of business trips)
While visiting family, documentary evidence of the family link is mandatory

NOTES
Applications submitted on-line do not relieve the applicant from collecting biometric data and the affixing of SEF’s sticker, by scheduling one at of its Service Bureaus
Limits to the extension of stay: up to 90 days, which can be extended for another 90 days
Where the period of stay exceeds 90 days per semester, from the date of the first entry through an external border, the extension of stay is limited to Portuguese territory
Applications for extending the period of stay shall not be granted where delivered more than 30 days after the term of the authorized period of stay

However, you do not need a tr visa if your stay in less than 24hrs.You are allowed to stay within the airport territory for your connecting flights

Is this true about current situation in Portugal. A Portuguese sent me that message

I wouldn't advice you to come here now, its a very rough situation with imigrants, we had almost a million imigrants comming only from brazil in 2023, and some more from other countries, as you can imagine, for a 10 million people country, this is way too much.
Most of them are ending up in the street, because there is no work and no houses affordable, and we, portugueses, are starting to rebel against imigration, so, not a good place to move to

If you choose not to go to a country because they have a lot of immigrants trooping in then you have no country to go to, because every other elite countries are facing the same thing years before now and people are still migrating to the country regardless, this person that sent you this, i sense xenophobic from his write up, he doesn't want people coming into the country hence he said and I quote "we Portuguese people have started rebelling against immigrants" which includes him hence the word "we", he didn't exclude himself.

Canada, USA, UK, Australia, France, Spain, Germany etc all have the same issues but does it stop people from migrating to these countries? Obviously NO.

As long you know what you're going there for and you're well prepared then you can go but if you have no clue of what you're going to do there it's better you stay back and don't waste your funds

And him saying a million Brazilians arrive Portugal in 2023 alone is a lie, the total numbers of Brazilian immigrants in Portugal as at Oct 2023 was around 250k Brazilians, I mean the whole Brazilians in Portugal, so how come only Brazilians will have over a million people migrating to portugal in just 2023, either legally ot illegally, that's just fallacy to discourage you from coming to Portugal.
However, the decision is solely yours to make
