Got into Uni Waikato for PhD in Management. Hope to commence in April. Just applied for my visa. Any one in Hamilton?

What about ielts please? Is it waved for Nigerians. I'm just tired of writing, last one expired.

Can one also go with family? Just thinking of switching focus from Canada

IELTS is university and college dependent. You'll need to find out the entry requirements. Most do require it though. Everything you need to know about student visas here - https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/visas/visa/full-fee-paying-student-visa

Greetings everyone. I’m new on this thread and my story is a bit long, please, kindly be patient with me.

I graduated with a 3rd class in law and I currently run a business. I intend to migrate to New Zealand with my family via study route.

My questions:
Can I find any school that accepts a 3rd class degree for post graduate diploma/certificate.

If yes, what are the possible PR pathway for my family and I?
What course can I go for?
Please, I need any help I can get.
Is there a pathway without a job offer from an employer inside NZ?

Please can one travel with family if you’re going to study a vocational program that’s in green list
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by SolarEdge: 4:05am On Jan 25
IELSTS is not compulsory, a letter from your university stating that you were taught in english can suffix ( Language of instruction)

I think only one among the major uni's requires application fees; while go there when others are free. Although, it might be less competitive there because they may have less applicants (My opinion)

There is no tuition deposit in new Zealand, you must pay your full tuition before a study visa can be granted

I don't think you can travel with your family for a diploma program in new zealand (not sure) but certainly for a master or Phd you can.

PS: I am not an immigration officer or a travel agent please. Do not contact me grin

Most schools does not require IELTS for admission especially PhD.

No tuition deposit in NZ, and school fees are paid in full before the visa.

Pathway to PR is point-based. BSc is 4, Masters 5 and PhD graduate is 6 points. You can have working experience to add more point. If you have some occupation, you can apply for skill to resident, direct PR.

Family is allowed for Masters and PhD.

[quote author=femijck post=17652121]Well Nz is such a beautiful and nice place...(Kiwis are one of the most friendly in d world)....with just about 4 million people making the whole country and about 8million sheep..........so funny........their immigration law is simple, strict and straight..........and it's much easier to get their PR compare to Aussie.........checkout their long term and short term visa or if u have anyone there, u can lookup the partnership visa on..............www.immigration.gov.nz.
If u really wanna go to Nz, we can hookup as i might also be moving to Auckland or christchurch maybe early next year.......pls Nigerians in NZ we need u here.....
Please can I have your email address? I am very interested in New Zealand ]

They do give funding to anyone irrespective of your Nationality once you meet the criteria, many have a published paper in a reputable journal.

I have a Nigerian in my school who is on Scholarship. When I applied for mine, it was not successful, the main reason was no publications.

So work towards paper publication and have a good grade in your Masters, you will get it.

Lastly, subsidising PhD fee to around NZ$7k is a scholarship on its own.

I had publication, distinction in masters and a 4.3 in first degree..... yet I no get am..... anyways I thank the lord..... going in march as I just got my AIP

That's good. Funding is always competitive. Also, continue publication in highly recognisable journals. You can still apply for funding in your second year. All the best.
Wellcome to New Zealand in advance; its a nice place to leave in, friedly people, never experienced racism so far, unlike other countries I have visited.
