Can you throw more light why it is not good to give real age on a public platform 🙁

I wonda.. so real age=real bvn/nin/ssn/bank account? How does age unmask my Identity?

40 years old.

Now can you answer my question?

Why are you advising someone looking for a solution to his problem not to disclose his age??

I would like to be to learn from you👀

@MrSoftlife

I know you 're not a real African woman otherwise you would not have quickly disclosed your age just like that 🙄. I am replying you because of your last sentence and snob those CABALS who claimed to have US visas and lived or living in America , yet they did not know the moral rules 😃

Read below what one American lady put online """"

I am 37 , and i have had men (especially older men) making disparaging comment after finding out my age. Men young and old sometimes treats me entirely different after i state my age . I can see that my value instantly dropped in their eyes .

1. Unless you re the person's Doctor, Lawyer , Accountant or relevant government official , or an employee of a store selling alcohol or tobacco (as mandated in the western world) then age is considered a personal information which is none of your business .

2. Another point which makes people (especially women) hesitates to give out real age , even in relationship is that majority of them would be unhappy about the consequence or after effect of their disclosure

3. For example , you as a 40 year old lady should be using" sir" for me because my immediate younger brother is even more than 5 yrs older than you 😊. You gave me the opportunity to write this because you just told me your real age .

4. If that Op mistakenly do anything wrong on Nairaland , you will soon see people uttering phrases like " Get out ! You this ordinary 21 year old boy .

I will usually say , can you tell us your age ranges ? Even many social media like Facebook , Instagram , Google etc give revealing of age as Optional . And the Op problem is not about age .

God Bless Nigeria .

Vo: that’s fine, who will be sponsoring you
Me: my dad, he’s a top supervisor at XYZ, he’s also a successful entrepreneur. My dad has four residential buildings in Benin city Edo state which gives him additional income and he has a catering service company on the side running by my mom… cuts me off
Vo ; what are your plans after studies
Me: I’ll be returning back to Nigeria to take up a role as an instructor at xyz, on the long run i aim to own my private firm which will … cuts me off
Vo: how much does your dad earn monthly
Me: he earns about 10 to 15m monthly from all his business
Vo: how much
Me; 10 to 15m
Vo: typing…. Sorry you’re not qualified this time you can reapply

Second attempt

Ear piece man just Dey deny deny
Vo: signals to come foward
Me: went confidently , good morning officer
Vo: pass me your passport and I-20
Me : passed them
VO: so why are you going to the us
Me: (prepared) I’m going to the USA to pursue my bachelors degree in computer programming with specialization in software development at Brigham young University Idaho.

V0: why BYU
Me: I chose Brigham young university Idaho for three main reasons, to begin BYU Idaho is owned and operated by the church of Jesus Christ which I am a member of, so I chose to go to a school where it’s gospel center learning, I also started and completed my predegree at Byu pathway, graduating as one of the best students with that I got acquainted to their educational system and I believe this will bring educational cultural shock to minimal while I study on campus..
VO: ok what does your dad do
Me: me my dad is a successful entrepreneur he’s also a service advisor at XYZ he’s been working there for over 10years.. he deals with importation and sales of heavy truck spare part and also servicing of vehicles.. cuts me off
Vo: okay so I see my co worker interviewed you the last time, what has changed
Me: since the last time I was here,I attended two conferences expert tech Nigeria and art technology Lagos, this ignited my desire to continue my education, I got to understand that the knowledge and skill I’ll gain from this course is essential for my career objective, also the last time I was here I was really nervous and could not articulate some questions properly, which may have made me give wrong answers to some question the VO asked

Vo: sorry I cut you off earlier what does your mum do
Me: my mom is the manager of B and J catering services a company owned by my dad, she’s also the owner of joy cleanings, she earns about 65 million naira annually , together they both paid my international student advance deposit of $4000 and would have no issue sponsoring my education
Vo: I do appreciate your bla bla
Bla, however I can’t approve your visa at the point.. the paper will bla bla bla
Prepared me just collect documents in shock waka comot

1. So you’re a Mormon, right? Because on your second try, you told the VO that you’re a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. If you’re really a Mormon, your answers to a few of the VO’s questions would’ve been very different.

2. You told the VO that your dad GROSSES a total of 15-20 million naira from all his businesses but NET is what’s important. After he pays salaries and expenses, he’d have only a fraction of that 15-20 million naira left every month so essentially, you told the VO that your dad is going to use several month’s net income to sponsor an undergraduate degree that you can get in Nigeria. With all of his income from several months going to fees, where would you get money for living expenses?

3. You told the VO that both your parents have several established businesses but you plan on returning to Nigeria after graduation to work as an instructor at someone else’s business. Your parents wouldn’t be getting a real return on such a large investment if you’re starting as an instructor in someone else’s business—to the VO, it was a big red flag.

Good day everyone and happy Sunday,

Please, I would like to know if not having a GRE score would have a negative effect on my student visa interview at the U.S embassy. I have an LL.M from an European country (2016) and would like to pursue an MBA in the U.S. later on this year.I have visited the US twice on a B1/B2 and also refused by them when I wanted to renew 2 years ago. Been to the UK thrice and I also have a Canadian vistor's visa that I am yet to use. What are my chances of getting the visa considering my profile? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

What reason were you given for the renewal being denied?

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by NigPatriot(m): 6:23am On Jan 23
Your real issue here is that nothing significant has changed in between your applications. making it an easy denial for the VO. If you want to go next time make sure you have a significant change in your profile. These significant changes could be:

1. Some sort of scholarship
2. A different school (more ranked)
3. Your Personal life; new job, new commitment (Ties back home)

I don't know the reason why you want to rent an apartment as a prospective International student before obtaining your F1 visa .

The few international students i know who have already landed in the US and needed to rent an apartment even had to show their student IDs or Form I 20s to landlords in their states before they can get an apartment not to talk of you that is still in Nigeria .

How will a Host-College or University in the US ask you to bring a rent/lease agreement when you are still in your country in order to reduce your POF in your Form I 20 ? Bank letter/ financial verification or scholarship award letter is all i know they have been asking prior to the issuance of Form I 20.

If your question is genuine , then contact your school's int- students office .

God Bless Nigeria.

my question is genuine , my rent is part of the proof of fund and it costs $23k ,
The school said if I have accommodation then it will be subtracted and to show proof of accommodation I need rent receipt or house lease .
So I don’t mean I need an apartment at the moment . I need rent receipt or lease .
Thanks

How will a rent receipt issued in someone else’s name be used for your I-20? Any of us that may know someone must be able to explain to the person named on the receipt how it’ll be used.

[2] what credentials/experience/qualifications do the said mock interviewers have? (e.g. travel history/visas possessed, immigration status, educational background)

Sleepingtablets alaereoshodi is the one encouraging and conducting mock interviews for those who contact him. I don’t know when people will realize there’s a wealth of information on this thread and you don’t need to seek out or pay anyone, no one can tell you what your chances are because there’s no visa officer here, no one can say this is the turn your interview will take but I guess panic usually takes over forgetting whatever will be will be.

the receipt will not be used on the I-20,
The receipt is to confirm that the person i am going to live with stays in new York .
Onthe I-20 the housing which is supposed to be $23k will now be written as sponsor , so I no longer need to show the housing fee:
I can comfortably afford the monthly rent but not the full one year rent at once .

On "japa":

To travel is good, it is a quick means of experience/knowledge.
What should not be encouraged is the desperation to migrate.
Foreigners have since latched-on to this our mindset and are using it to exploit us.
Cases abound of Nigerians whose passports are seized upon arrival in another country and technically enslaved by indigenes.

Suggestion:
[1] beyond having a plan for your study abroad and/or immigration aspiration, have a fallback plan in your home-country (i.e. Nigeria) incase the overseas plan fails. Better be alive (and maybe mocked temporarily) than being dead abroad without loved ones able to recover you.
[2] do not sell immovable assets to fund abroad move.
[3] do as #2 says.
[4] tell others about #3.

God bless you!! The bolded above is the major red flag!!! The visa was denied due to that number 3. All your answers looked so inconsistent with so much plenty talk that didn't add up. I repeat never ever be nervous when having your interview. Always try to stay calm and not talk too much. Remember those VOs are Trained Psychologist!!
