Japa.
Japa was not a thing thirty years ago. Twenty years ago, it was way easier to leave Nigeria, ten years ago, it was moderately easy to leave Nigeria due to naira strength, it was not uncommon for a market woman to send a child abroad for example.

But right now, it's exceptionally difficult to leave Nigeria. Ten years later, it will almost be impossible. Everything is working against you, from the fall of naira, to countries tightening immigration laws, and fewer countries giving Nigerians visa free entry.

So it's not about if you should leave or stay, but that you should secure a home elsewhere first, then if you decide to stay, feel free to do so. This is the most reasonable move. You owe it to your

That's actually my reality. I'm too egoistic to apply for a visa. If any country requires a visa from me, then most likely I'm not going there. Thankfully, almost all country I can enter without a visa, except maybe North Korea.

You don't want that?

The west is fighting a proxy war with Russia through Ukraine. Even though they are political enemies presently, western countries still don't need a visa to enter Russia. But Nigeria is at peace with Russia, Ukraine and everyone, but they want a visa for us.

Hmmmm @ the bolded

In all honesty, if I can make 2m or N1.5m a month in Nigeria...I can never japa, i will go anywhere in the world for Vacation and return back, send my kids to school overseas too and bring them home back. It is better to be the no.1 man in your own country than to be a second citizen is another man`s land. More so, God has plan for every man, we are only in a hurry. jah bless.

Hehe...
1.5 - 2m per month is big money in 9ja but not much in the west. It alone is unlikely to give what you described except if by overseas you mean Ghana.

Your annual take home on that salary may not even pay the tuition for an international university student in the UK. That's aside feeding money, accomodation e.t.c.

The continued depreciation of the naira has significantly reduced our buying power in the international market.

I get angry each time I watch Nigerian Politicians on the news, then my anger increases when I meet those sycophants that support them, those β€œanywhere belle face individuals β€œ. How people are forced out of their motherland to japa. I faced same situation some years ago. All I can say is for you to make your peace with it don’t say your wife pushed you. Because first few years abroad can be tough.
I wish you all the best.

Romanians dey suffer na
.

Not true, the Country may not be Economically viable but the the standard of living is better than Nigeria, cost of tuition fees and living is affordable compare to other European countries, I'm going there basically for Studies cos their Maritime University at Constanta offers my kinda course at Masters Degree Programme, i may do some menial jobs there for living expenses then migrate to a more better country after studies.

Follow or check EveryEvery on Facebook, he has first hand information about the country Romania and he lives in Cluj Napoca.

He made it clear in one of his post that if you want to make it quick then avoid Romania but slow and steady you'll make it in Romania that a lot of Africans have remitted cash back home hustling in the same Romania on a slow&steady pattern.

Romania ke...Nigeria is better than Romania or almost the same, most Romania are here in the UK doing warehouse and factory work.

Going there for Studies and nothing more, I can only hustle to foot some of my bills while I watch out for my next destination after studies, it's easy to migrate from Romania to US, UK, Australia, Canada or other European Union Countries than to move from Nigeria, though they are yet to join Schengen Zone and they're working on it to do so.

Hmmm... Romania is a poor European country. Man you've got to be focused on full hustle out there to keep it together financially.

Romania status has changed, not longer poor as you think.

They are hospitable with nice apartments in major cities and towns, check Expat in Romania facebook group. I follow them.
The capital of Romania, Bucharest is describe as Paris of Eastern Europe. for IT savvy personalities then Cluj Napoca will be ok, for Marine activities then Port City of Constanta is cool.

Other major cities are Timisoara, Lasi, Brasov, etc
Their cheap tuition fees is what attract me to the country.

EveryEvery posted on Facebook saying that it is the Indian-Romanians are the ones projecting bad image of Romania as poor country, or poor people cos they engage in begging instead of working to earn a living.

I noticed their women marry early and they value relationships, most of them I see on Facebook flaunt their kids, spouses, boyfriends on their profile so you can easily know that they are in one form of relationship or the other.

I pity you and your offsprings with this your poor foresight. When your offsprings read what you have typed online in years to come, they will stone you to oblivion. By then Naira will be #1million to 1dollar.

Indeed I did, but the new government brought an opportunity in my business line which was still running and I came back in 2023. A good decision for me. I have three running contracts already and this year is setting up to be my best year in business.
