Acidosis:

And what happens if you never get to see her in the "labour" room? You won't respect your wife?

Some went to the theatre not "labour" room. Others get done with delivery before they even make it to the clinic. Some went to the labour room and came out like nothing happened. Others are TTC, (in fact these ones have seen hell), etc.

Respect your woman for what she represents in your life. Do not wait until you see her in pains.
Exactry!!

I have been in labour room.since 5th year of medical school during Obstetrics and Gynaecology posting.

As a medical doctor,I have supervised more than a hundred childbirth hence been there countless times.

So much respect for women. My shirt had been torn few times or the button ripped when you're grabbed during the painful process.Sadly, before I left Nigeria several years ago,we didn't have epidural anaesthesia then to relieve pain.

God bless all the women. It's not easy.

It is better not to be there. I want to be able to handle my woman how she ought to be treated devoid of any sentiment or emotional blackmail. Research has it that some men become traumatized afterwards and it impacts the marriage negatively.

Why are they traumatized? Are they not the ones asking what women bring to the table? They should enter, please.

It is not better oooo. Nothing is as good as natural way of giving birth.

It is only women who have both experience can relate.

GboyegaD:
Yes I have. The first time, I told her at conception I am not a fan of women going through labor pains and we should opt for elective cesarean section. She said she would like to experience labor and I had to let her have her way.
Fast forward to 3rd trimester, I talked about epidural and she was like she isn't sure she wants to take it. I was like I am not in support of she not taking it as I do not see the need for the pain/stress.
We were asked to come to the hospital on the day of 40weeks and 1day. She was induced the following morning and by 5pm they moved us into our own delivery room. As at then dilation was still less than 3cm.
In the cause of the night, dilation got to 5cm and my wife cried with each contraction. At some point she had to request the epidural herself. Around 5am they had to break the water and said the baby was distressed because there was mycomium in the water.
About an hour later, the doctor said it was time for CS. They gave me scrubs to wear however, they said they will wheel her into the theater before they bring me in.
I was there when my baby was brought out and handed over to the peadtric nurse who cleaned him up and then gave him to me.

The second one, we opted for CS before conception. I was there and this time they did cut the umbilical cord longer so that I can also cut it myself.

The pains of CS last longer in terms of healing process however, I believe it is better particularly, if your threshold for pain is very low.

Yep!
I think that was the day God spoke to me.
In my life, I gat kind of hatred to my mother because of certain things, BUT after I witness the suffer of my wife during my first child, I corrected my thinking.

I have been in the labour room.

All female mammals give birth to their young ones alive so there's nothing so special about humans.

Yup and it's an experience indeed.

I was outside the hospital ad could hear my wife screaming in pain about 2am April 11th, I went into the labour room 10mins to the D-hour!

... I duff my hat for the female gender. In all that beauty, there's so much stress.
A man can find a small corner stand and ease himself, for a woman it's opposite.
Before you know it the female child starts with monthly vaginal discharges.
And then pregnancy to labour
Looking after a baby sucking her dry daily.

RESPECT TO WOMEN!
