Yes Osimhen is not there to just hold but you can't deny the fact that he is not our only scoring outlet.

The number of times our defenders (Zaidu, Bassey, Aina, Bright) have gotten into scoring chances is proof of that.

So scoring outlet is not limited. But you see that pressing that is part of Osimhen's game? Can you boldly say we have anyone who can offer that?

However, VO gassed out today and should have been pulled off much earlier.

If you sit that deep against quality players consistently, you are playing Russian roulette, it is only a matter of time.

If that ball they hit the bar with went in, how would we respond? Osimhen was already gassed, Peseiro will bring Onuachu on to score two?
As it no go in nko? Omo leave speculations. Deal with hard reality. The man is working with the tools at his disposal. Just on the eve of the Afcon, we lost Ndidi, Boniface too. Alhassan played one match and was sore. Abeg ooo.

in my opinion super eagles is the best team tactics wise in this afcon

I believe Jpes made out time to research more on the ability of our players and found out the best tactics to bring out their best

If u follow Lookman in Atalanta u will notice that in a two man striking tactics he is very potent. The way jpes hv set up his team especially in attack is deceptive. From the beginning you will think lookman is operation as a winger but in the actual sense him and osimhen is deployed as a two man attacking force while Simon is more of crossing and delivering of passes in the final 3rd to the attacking duo

Iwobi plays as a deep lying player maker who is expected to keep the flow of the game as well as to play it simple while Onyeka is the destroyer who runs around to harass the opponent’s midfield as well as serve as a pressing machine

Zaidu’s major responsibility in this team isn’t moving forward but to defend his position. Him going forward is a plus and much isn’t expected from him via crosses while Aina is the one with more freedom to attack because he is more assured and confident on the ball than zaidu

Oil dey your head, many Africans gave this match to Angola because of their deadly attack, Mabululu, and co, apart from the initial scare, they were nowhere to be seen, the coach even vex replace all their best players. That says a lot about the performance of our boys. Of course, they will tire out na, when dem no be wood.

NFF Should be looking at the side of this Angola coach , he is one of the best i have seen in this tournament .gave his best , even brought the best from unknown names ...JPES is clueless ... what we are enjoying now is the individual brilliance of our players ...
oga the team is playing to jpes tactics/formation …nothing like individual brilliance

Guys, if we win this AFCON, we will match Ghana's 4 AFCONs and they will no longer be able to chat to us on that front.

Nigeria have participated in 19 AFCON tournaments and have reached the semi-finals 16 times.

Like Mourinho always says, "Attack wins games, defense wins tournaments."

Angola had a very good attack, but on this day, Nigeria's defense was unmatchable

sometimes things don't go well for big players in a tournament, what will you say about Mo Salah after all the exploits this season for Liverpool? Before he got injured, what was his impact?

That's football for you. Meanwhile, if Nigeria wins Afcon no matter what Oshimen will be remembered as one of our stand-out players for us. His positioning to distract a defender for Lookman's goal was highly commended by the Supersports studio analysts.

If I remember correctly, Salah got injured in the first half of Egypt's second match. He scored a penalty in the first match against Mozambique. You cannot judge him negatively, because he didn't even have enough minutes to be as impactful as one would expect, still he tried.

Do you seriously think that if Salah was fit, he wouldn't have scored up to three goals by now? Come on!!! 🤷🏾‍♂️😄

Like I said earlier, I'm not doubting Osimhen's passion or work rate. I'm just disappointed at the extremely poor quality of his finishing.

I hate it with a passion. It's like machines and robots playing. No variety, just pass, pass, pass. Denying the opponent the ball for stretches of the game such that it becomes a one-sided show. Damn that useless philosophy. I came to watch two teams have a go at each other, not one team hugging the ball like a toy. Anytime any tiki taka team lose, e dey sweet my belly.

This is one of the thing I have been expecting for Finidi. How can we have a legendary winger in our coaching setup and our wingers are doing like they have elephantiasis.

I started watching the Afcon in 1994, I have not missed any edition since then.

The Semi- final has most times been an Herculean task for the Super Eagles.

I hope Jpes gets it right this time around.

Psychological,Our players should be able to surmount this mental block.

Honestly, I am worried for the Super Eagles.

Mahrez free kick still fresh in our memories.

I hope we scale this hurdle as we did in 2013 during late Stephen Keshi era.

I wish the SE all the best going forward.

Had Uzoho started this competition instead of Nwabali, we would have joined others like Algeria, Egypt Ghana to exit this competition quite early and Peseiro would have been labelled the worst Nigerian coach since Libregets.
Makes me wonder what could have been had Rohr/Eguavoen done their due deligence in search of a real goalkeeper.

Naso them go with the same mouth say we have an average team.
That's why Blueelf trolls us. We overestimate our team. Meanwhile JPes is working with the tools at his disposal. For God sakes we don't even have a robust creative midfielder. If you talk now dem go say Nwakali. Shey this kind games wey even Frank the tank gas out, Nwakali go survive abi. After him give him long pin point pass and we score, the opponent will slice through our midfield like knife through hot butter and score us.

Effective? Yes. Yet ineffective in his primary role. How to find a balance? Me I can never see black and call it white. No matter the player. Nwakali that I praise today, go to many pages before u will see the opposite.

Bro you are not seeing black and calling it black. Na defeat go satisfy una.

Gbam!!! I said it in one of my other group chats. We have created enough chances to win all, if not most of our games by a 2 goal margin.

Clinical offensive and a no-gree defense will win championships.

Angola stretching our boys, we may need to change tactics

Exactly. If we stick to this tactics in our next game, we will definitely play penalties. Individually, some players are beginning to fatigue or burn out.

lol....he will easily stroll in...

Stroll in where? 😄

By no particular order:

1) There's Mostafa Mohammed.

2) There's Nsue.

2) There's Bounedjah.

3) There's Gelson Dala.

5) There's Ademola Lookman.

If it's a 4-3-3 formation, Mostafa or Nsue will take that spot. If it's a 4-4-2 formation, Mostafa AND Nsue/Bounedjah will likely take those spots.

Where Osimhen wan see chance when he has just 1 goal and 1 assist? (I don't count penalties won by players as assists)
