Both goals came down his right side
He was totally off and I wonder why SiMoses left that position after he came on for Chuks

I hope we can all finally agree after almost 10 years that the key to any team success is a combination of all the departments. At least we thank God say we get Nwabali which to me is the biggest thing to happen to the Super Eagles in a long while. Your defence, midfield and attack need to be in synergy.

One thing I will not take away from Peseiro as much as I don't like him is his declaration of intent from the point he was hired. He said he wanted to win afcon even woth no form of belief in the populace. He made the necessary changes. He infused a fighting spirit into our team. We can believe again. We fought and we fought beautifully. Up super Eagles. We did well. Am happy with the outcome. We will take our silver. Na pesin nor win spoon.

Proud of you guys. Proud of all Nairalanders... both optimists and pessimists. Not forgetting haters.

Practically took the whole continent to gang up against Naija before we could lose. My salute

Bruh......competition has come to an end. I wasn't pained for losing out to be honest cos we didn't play to win the match.

We aimed to defend for 120mins, then win on pen. We were just lucky to score a goal in the match.

We have very good, skillful players yet we were parking Bulldozers. I don't like comdemning coaches while competition is going on, but since it has come to an end - its time to call spade a spade.

The coach surely got his tactics wrong, but is it worth it to get rid of him? Do we go all the way back to square one again?
of course, we would be back to square one, even if we won, it would still back to square one. We have no development plan for our football. We've had this midfield problem for a very long time, but no plan for it

Ndidi is not a controller either. None of the midfielders in this team to CIV 2023 is a controller. None.

This team needed an Nwakali but Jpes kept playing dumb and stubborn.

Ndidi isn't a pass master himself.

Meliforme:
Ndidi was missed. Onyeka covered good defensively and was fantastic with his forward drives, but his passing range is a let down. He is also not a genuine controller.

No need to blame anybody.

What has happened has happened.

Oddly enough, I don't feel bad about this loss as much as I thought I would. That our loss against Tunisia pained me more than this one.

I feel bad for some players like Nwabali and Ekong, but as for the loss, I feel nothing. It is what it.

I said it several times and they said he runs around and bullies

All that and no goal in. That is not enough

We will do better next time sha

It is well with the SE.

Up Eagles!!!!
They won't blame Osimhen.

I said switch Osimhen to RW let Moffi strike.. maybe if it was Osimhen and Aina marking Adingra the situation would have been different.

D funniest thing is we could av even matched d Ivorians toe to toe in d middle…our coach just messed up d all stuff.deir players no special na ,we didn’t just bring d A game
The Ivorians played their best game today.

SA exposed our frailties, CIV picked up from there. I was expecting a tactical switch after the SA game, to at least unsettle the Ivorian game plan which never happened.

Fatigue played a key role. A team defending continuously will definitely suffer physical and mental fatigue.

The case with Nwabali should really make us dig and unearth the real talented gks in the league. Nwabali is not young and we need excellent back ups.

The coach we need now is the one who knows what the team needs to improve. Jpes has played all the defense he wants, does he havw something else under his sleeves? He deserves a contract renewal though. But I don't think he can take us to the promised land.
Nwabali's case is not just a goalkeeper thing but for the whole team. Just because a coach does not call the right players does not mean he has scouted well. We need to have an open mind and thoroughly keep building the squad. Let where you play stop being a criteria but what the player can bring to the table.

Finito.

Fvck it!! Our attack let us down. Why can’t he carry this team the way he’s carrying Napoli? Kvara doesn’t go shiit right? He’s the only one doing everything.

forgiveness:
He is very poor in reading match. You're leading going into the second half and needed to press but you kept Iwobi that was strolling over the field and misplacing passes.

Absolutely, poor.
Its obvious Iwobi had no business starting 2nd half. Aina wasn't at his best either same as Lookman but they still tried.

See......I really can't fault the players cos they did sacrifice everything for their coach. Osimhen kept fighting for crumbs cos he was starved throughout the competition of passes.

We wanted the trophy but CIV wanted it more. No need blaming the Ref cos both Ivorians goals are clean goals.

You mentioned Nwakali...

They will come for you...

Onyedika and Yusuf were also there.

He could have fielded 3 DMs in Onyeka, Onyedika and Yusuf since he knew he wanted to park the bus.

But it seems playing with 3 midfielders is an abomination to Nigerian coaches.

On balance of play we simply didn't deserve to win. We even got lucky Ekong scored from that set piece.
The defence didn't trust the midfield, they kept lumping it up to Osimhen.
The fans themselves were over confident. Where all the confidence was coming from, I had no idea.

I would have preferred chuks removed for Yusuf. Gives the midfield more shape and helps us but then no use crying over spoilt milk.
Yes bro. Funny enough am not even upset. I was during the game especially when we sat back and left the middle but after we conceded, I kinda resigned. We were pleasantly surprised at getting to the finals. The boys did well.
