Bingo! You nailed it!!

That’s naija for you, everyone has an agenda.

I am surprised it is Iwobi getting all this heat, he wasn't even on the pitch for the second goal and the first was from a corner.

The fact that Iwobi is getting the major heat just tells me that Nigerians prefer agenda and have bandwagon mentality.

I guess they want to pour out their frustrations on someone, lol.

Nigerians, Bola Tinubu is your problem not Sanusi Zaidu.

In all, this team achieved very well. We just need to build on the positive. Midfielders is the key. Phase out some players and start the rebuild. It was just not their day. First the ref really didn't protect the playerss example that interception of Zaidu by kessie was suppose to be given a card. Even peserio was frustrated with the officiating. Even the one they gave to grandel against Zaidu was not suppose to be give as foul. . Though these are not excuses, but they are minute factors that creates fear in players not taking that decision knowing that the ref is not in their favour. I heard caf changed the ref that was supposed to officiate the match. A lot of factors were against our guys. In all it was a good outing.

Dey chat nonsense with your full chest. Shebi you get two legs? Donate yourself as goalkeeper for our AFCON next time, no be to come dey form Nairaland fingers. Put your blood on that P.

Once again, go and join politics and contest elections. Why keep complaining about the price of rice and dollar when you are alive and well?

Donate yourself as President next elections, no be to dey form Nairaland fingers.

Until then, you have no right to complain.

I no expect am to hot like this o for here.

World Cup na the koKo. We have won AFCON before. let’s do something we never done before. We don’t have to have bragging rights against other African nations. let’s just make some football progress. Can we get to the QF, SF, finals, or maybe win the WC? Let’s look ahead.

Facts. These players give their 100%. They must be protected.

safarigirl:
In 2022, we crashed out in Round of 16, I came here and said the team failed, make we no blame anybody.

Yet, the Nigerian mob used the opportunity to pour so much bile on Okoye, man had to recuse himself from this AFCON. Till today, that boy cannot post without one degenerate posting rubbish in his comments.

Today again, we have lost, I have come and said, "It's team failure, no need to single out any player", yet, once again, a mob fights for their rights to a scapegoat.

It is the team that failed. Not Iwobi, not Osimhen, not Aina, not Chukwueze, not Zaidu. The team failed. Nobody hold their side 100%, so, to single out one person in a team loss is wickedness.

The entire team was poor. Let us be just in criticism and not constantly single out one person for hate. If na only one person fail, we for face am, but this one was team failure.

I have learned my major lesson bruv from this Afcon. I will never follow anyone bash any Eagles player again even if they are not doing well. We can always make excuses for their poor performance. All na perspective. Lesson learned
No. E no pepper me. You are reacting from the pain of the loss. Well, you are right. It's a matter of perspective. We cannot all see things the same way.

Your hype means nada. You don't have faith. If you attempt to hype you will suffer from the dissonance between your faithlessness and the lies your mouth utters in the name of hype.
Spin it how you like but expecting to beat Ivory coast black and blue using Germany VS Brazil as a case in point defies logic or any color of rationality.
If you draw strength and courage from that sort of asinine postulation, it's pretty much how you put it, misdiagnosis.

many of them fail to put into consideration that this is the first time iwobi is been deployed as a DLPM

A role that he isn’t familiar with coupled with the pressure and demands required in a big tournament like the afcon

All their eyes were just on the guy to put a foot wrong so they will slaughter him. The games he played very well none of them commended him but once he has a bad game they all crawl out gun blazing 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Even many paint it like he is in the super eagles till date because of his influential uncle jay jay

And the same influence hv kept him in the epl over 7 seasons since he graduated from Arsenal’s youth team

For Instagram and Twitter almost everybody has been insulting iwobi since the game against South Africa

Yes he wasn’t at his best but I don’t get the hate against him ,trust me when I call it hate ,I know what’s beyond criticism when I see one

Some people say e Dey play for national team because he Dey related to okocha

One thing I like about him is his quiet lifestyle ,man will ignore everything and return back to Fulham and play his football while waiting to be called up for the next international game

Without a doubt, Sanusi Zaidu cost us this AFCON. For the first goal, he failed to mark his man. For the second goal, he literally gifted the ball to Ivorian player to start the attack that led to that goal.

Zaidu was useless throughout the whole match.

O pari

Oboy I fear una for this thread o. Who told you it was Zaidu's job to mark Kassie? Zaidu was manning the far post while Kassie was standing unmarked far from the post.

You blame Zaidu better he realized the danger then left his post to deal with it alas to late. I blame Zaidu for leaving his position. If he remained put that ball would have been saved.

The second goal was completely down to Aina and the brilliance of Adringa.

We failed to create chances. And if we had, we would have had to bury them.
I do not blame any defender for the goals scored against us. The goals were well created and taken by our opponents. We just failed to create our own.

Move on guys. The hosts are deserved champions. What a fairytale run!!!

I don't think people hate Iwobi or have any agenda against him, he has generally enjoyed the support of Nigerians. Nigerians had too much believe in him and could not fathom why our midfield with an Iwobi was overwhelmed badly.
This is the first time people are calling out Iwobi

If iwobi haven’t made any impact in the super eagles since he made his debut under oliseh at least his goals against Cameroon in the second round that took the team to the quarter finals of 2019 afcon and the winner against Zambia at uyo that qualified us for 2018 World Cup is there for all to see

He also boast of over 70 caps in the super eagles, I wonder how a bad player will be important to a team close to a decade where every coach that takes over the team wants him

I am sure it’s okocha connection that made him a starter for Fulham and Everton

We should let them breathe and rather focus on what should be done to improve the team.

Congratulations to Nigeria and the boys.

In the game our two worst players were aina and zaidu but few here turned all the blame to Alex

Even samu was a passenger in the first half but no one hv the guts to say that here

But if iwobi misplaces one pass or a tackle in the next few seconds it will be updated here

The coach was the problem. Allowing Iwobi to continue before conceding when his tactics was to soak pressure was a very bad decision.

It exposed our wingbacks and allowed them to dominate us from the midfield and wings.

He should have removed him earlier and bring in a midfielder. The timing was too poor.

Iwobi played well in some matches but yesterday, he wasn't in the game.

Lost possession and misplaced passes several times but that was not his fault. It was the coach fault because he saw that with his eyes yet left him till they equalized.

Overall an excellent AFCON outing. For me I had an open mind going into that final game and already prepared for a defeat in case it comes.

Prio to commencement of the tourney I am not sure up to 10% of us here could have predicted we will get to the Semis let alone the final.

The team gave all they have, you cannot give what you don't have. Playing against a host team in a Cup final is not an easy fit. This is Cote D' Ivoire we just played in Abidjan.

Let's just take the positives and continue to build.

Peseiro needs to scout for more midfielders and inject them into the team while also reducing the number of defenders. Thank God we now finally have a goalie, which is one of the major positives of this AFCON outing.

We can build from here as we push towards world cup qualification. 2026 World Cup is just by the corner . Core of this team will still be available then, if we qualify.

I AM PROUD OF THE BOYS
