Do you know? AS genotypes can now marry each other and still have their offspring safe from any genetic disorders through Prenatal Genetic Testing. I just made some researchs and highlighted the important informations needed.

A neighbour of mine got married to her girlfriend.
They are both of AS genotype.
Their church (catholic) counselled them on the medical implications, but their insisted on getting married.
And the church wedded them.
And today, they both have 4 boiz and a girl.
And non of the children is a sickler.

Theoretically when doing that genetic tree cross-breeding, but practically, nature adopts random algorithm.

Practically two parents who are both AS genotype may have unfair chances of producing two or more sicklers while another parents of both AS genotype may not produce any SS.
I for, example don't know the genotype of my parents, but I and my immediate brother are both AS and we are seven from same parents.
And non of us is a sickler.
To be frank, i don't know the genotype of my older siblings, but they are all married with kids and their children are all healthy.

Prevention is better than cure

Chances of birthing AS is very high, naturally so why go that route

@OP, Those in the medical field knows that there are ways you can carry out prenatal testing for some genetic conditions like SCD.

But the best advice still remains;
AA+AS
AA+AA
AA+SS

AS+AS has a 25% chance of AA, 50% chance of AS and 25% chance of SS, and so on with the other genetic combination.

In the end, nature will take it course. A 25% chance at SS is a very large percentage.

I an AS n married AS .we have 2 boys non SS.i also can comfortably raise 5m at anytime T .therefore I am an average comfortable Nigerian

Bro..... it might not work like that. Being AS+AS doesn't transcribe that you must birth sickle cells.
