But on my DS160 I used the old one to fill it.
My question is can I create new DS160 with new i20 info form and update my visa page with the new DS160 application code??

Yes you kinda knew what to do but you ain't very sure .

1. Fill another DS-160 and include your new resumption date as well as your choice (interview location , Abuja/Lagos) center and any other info you needs to include .

2. After that , login to your CGI portal and update your new DS 160 number . You will still have to print another visa appointment letter because , your DS 160 confirmation printout (number) must tally with the DS 160 number that is inputted in your visa appointment letter .

Hey! I don't really understand NL's email system so I'd rather not use it. I suggest that you post your question here and I will try to answer if I can. Posting your question on the thread will also enable others who may be knowledgeable or have a more recent experience to chime in. Others in a similar situation to yours will also benefit.

Perhaps, you're checking Abuja Embassy. I'm not sure Lagos Embassy has this long waiting period. Cheers!

I read elsewhere that maximum of 3-4 times daily, otherwise, your account will get frozen for 72 hours!

I’m checking Lagos actually

The new wait times are really long, perhaps why only Nov/Dec dates are currently available. Hopefully the times are lower in the coming months.

Good evening house. Please who has done a PhD interview? I have listened to some videos and readsome tips online but I still need urgent help from a direct person from this side who has experienced it.

When scheduling an appointment, you will be asked if you have held an F, M, or J visa in the last 48 months. If you answer yes, you will be directed to the next option to determine if you qualify for Dropbox. In most cases, you will be eligible for Dropbox.

Yes you are qualified . You should have renewed 3 months prior to the expiration of your visa , but nevertheless, you are still absolutely qualified .

You do not need someone who have done a PhD F1 visa interview before and if at all you will need such person , then he or she has to be the person who is in the exact same situation like you . That was why all the videos and tips you got online did not satisfy you naturally because your instinct told you that you are still not getting what you want .

1. If you are going for PhD in Biochemistry and you are studying the transcripts of someone who got government scholarship to study PhD in Educational Psychology do you think that transcripts will work for you ?

2. If you tell me your present situation ie , program of study , your Alma Mata (Bsc and MSc ) , post graduation plans, family situations etc , then i can be able to handle your mock (possible questions and answers) trainings .

Our case is similar. But I’m not qualify for Dropbox cuz I’ve already used that option to get a visa for spring 24, but I couldn’t travel. Now I’m in Nigeria trying to get a visa appointment for fall 24. However, it looks like you should qualify for Dropbox

My other question is I planned to travel with my fiancee who has never held a US visa before but our court wedding is sometimes around April. Will I need to appear at an interview with her or she has to go separately since I might be qualifying for a Dropbox? I would also like to know if getting married some weeks before an interview wouldn't raise any red flag. Thanks!

1. No . She is not qualify for IW because she has not gotten a US visa before , and you do not have to appear with her during her interview . She will have to apply separately with her F2 Form I20.

2. Getting married before an interview is not a red flag, it is a natural occurrence which happens unplanned or planned . Besides, it's another good (tie) score in your DS 160 profile .

3. Nevertheless, your would-be wife would need a lot of questions to answer the consular officer and she must answer those questions convincingly, otherwise she would be penned as an intending Immigrant .
