What does Nicole Payne have to do to get a call-up? Is she injured?

What's up with Flourish is she injured? Can't remember the last time I saw her in a match day squad.

No she isn't. She's however not playing enough to justify her inclusion in any squad list. She needs a move out of PSG in my opinion, even if it's just a loan move.

She has been playing more than Michelle who is in off-season. I don't understand why we can only call 18 players

First, the 18 player limitation is due to the IOC. The Olympics only expects 18 players and a few alternatives should the need arise.

Also, feels weird to compare off-season players to players in-season. We make judgements based on when players are in season. Michelle was a starter throughout last season, so she's earned her spot. Michelle was also in an off-season camp where she competed amongst her peers (Ify was there too). The NWSL ended on the 12th of October 2023, and Nicole has played a total of 2 games since that time (a cup game she started and as a 16 minute sub in a league game). She's played a total of 2 league games this season (both as subs) and also featured in 1 or 2 cup games. That about summarises her season.

She obviously has quality and I'm rooting for her but she needs playing time and PSG doesn't seem to be giving her that.

It's like Cameroon went full homebase players.

This also probably means they've been preparing them for quite some time.

Sorry Nicole Payne have played more number of games this season though she has only started 1 League game and 1 Cup game, the rest few was late time substitutions…

But the truth is that she’s struggling for game time, alongside the likes of Tounkara even Lieke Martens don’t even get to start big games.. My own take is that she seems to have lost a lot of confidence and really need to go elsewhere on Loan to get quality game time.. EVEN Paris FC will be a good place for her as Julie Soyer their Right Back will be 39yrs this year and will retire cause it was Paris FC Coach that pleaded with her and the Captain Thiney to stay longer to offer the younger ones experience..

I don't think she has. I checked before I put up those numbers. She's only played 2 league games. Couldn't confirm for cup games hence I put 2. Even if wrong maybe by 1 or 2. (If you can help look it up) The principle of the point being made however remains the same.

Yes, she needs to find a place that can afford her some game time. She shouldn't be sitting on the bench at this stage of her professional career. This makes you appreciate better JOE's decision to go to the Seria A.

But Joe didn’t just go to Seria A but arguably the biggest club there alongside AS Roma.. Lyon and PSG will definitely have a tough time beating those two Italian Giants too.

In all at this stage Nicole need to land where she would get the Playing time

Yes, but french clubs have history and better roster on paper. Her agent needs to figure out how to get a club where she gets to play.

She has got talent, her pace is one thing non of our full back can match maybe Imuran a little… A move to the NWSL won’t be bad at all as they appreciate athleticism…

Another thing I noticed was that Nigeria the other Nigeria player (Ngozi Ebere) that was signed by PSG years ago also struggled for game time before she left for Barcelona FA in Cyprus and she was in her prime then … Maybe PSG isn’t a Nigeria favour Club😜🙄

I sincerely think it's just about being pragmatic. While it was celebration worthy that a top club like PSG signed a Nigerian player, getting game time was always a long short. Onyi could have stayed in the NWSL and would probably have been drafted no 1, but she took a more pragmatic step in going to Italy. To show how much planning went into that move it's been rumoured she will go there for close to a year (I think you were the first person to report it here).

She definitely can get clubs in France, England and Spain where she gets to be a starter. For a player with her potential who is currently in her growing and development phase, she needs to get this sorted ASAP.

Instability. Zogg has battled with injuries and have had to move clubs multiple times because of this. She's played a total of 14 games since 2021. Roosa has also struggled with playing time. She did settled in a club where she was a regular last season though. Compared to what we have they don't have a chance.

I know some would disagree but...I have always seen them as average players to be honest. I don't think we really need them and they need to actually show more.

It's just like I evaluated Esther Okoronkwo from that friendly tournament in 2021 (where they all played). I saw that Esther still had/has some lapses in her game she needs to fix, but in raw form she was the type of player I liked. Daring, Skillful, Unpredictable. I wish Ariyo offered me something similar. Onumonu wasn't also impressive in that tournament but she was at least banging in the goals in top flight U.S league then.

The truth is their position is very very competitive, especially the attack where every no.9 coming in know too well that she has the Almighty Asisat Oshoala to contend with for a starting spot…

In Defense Onyi Zogg still has a chance unlike Roosa in attack.., Zogg can play every position in defense but injury literally dealt with her late 2022 and last year which made her even take a break… The good is she’s back with the One of the best team in Switzerland a Champions League Playing Side, Let her play her way back to form and a regular for her club first before we can talk about her return to the team as we do need at least 2-3 Back up CB’s too…

Hibernian FC are pleased to announce the loan signing of Comfort Erhabor from Barclays Super League side Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 18-year-old signs on loan until the end of the season.

A promising young goalkeeper, Erhabor has made 15 appearances for Albion's under-19s - including a start in the Nike Premier Cup final which the academy side won in October 2023 versus Tottenham Hotspur.

So far this season, Erhabor has been playing in the English FA’s U21 Professional Game Academy League - a high-performance training and playing environment that supports a dual career focus allowing Comfort to combine her football development along with an education.

Grant Scott commented on the latest addition to his squad: "We are pleased to welcome Comfort to the Club, she is a talented young goalkeeper with a lot of potential."
