Nigeria, Delta born, Havard trained, renowned economist Dr.mrs.Okonjo Iweala should be invited by the Nigerian government to help solve the current economic problems in the country.

She's the current vice president of world bank for African region, she's also the head of world trade organization and member of board of many top notch word institutions.

She should be invited to work with some sound economist back home to find a lasting solution to the present economic imbroglio nigeria finds herself

No way o!
Politicians from the West were the first to kick against her intervention then.

They fought Obasanjo because of her that Nigeria has better economic brains.

Those people from the West will rather drown and take everbody with them than for an Igbo person to save them. That's the mentality of many of them and a major reason this country is in this mess.

Obafemi Awolowo and Okonjo Iweala are the two best finance ministers in the history of this country.

Awolowo leads, Okonjo Iweala follows.

She is not ideal and have a full time job at WTO.
Tinubu's should use his team of Lagos magicians and build Nigeria like they built Lagos.

Bulaba bandits and BMC imbecilès said she ate our yams, they swore by sopona that they saw her eating full tubers of yams with palm oil and wrote several petitions to disgrace her abroad. I don't think they would want a yam eater to come and continue eating the few remaining yams after all, Edun and Cardoso are doing a brilliant job so far cool

They have come again with their propaganda. Everything to them is my tribe person first, followed by others. This same nonsense got Tinubuu there and has destroyed the country. My advice to other tribes is don't pity these people when you see them suffering and crying for food.

You mean the woman who openly initiated the dollarization of economy by demanding to be paid in dollars under Obasanjo?

The one who supervised the depletion of ECA and initiated post-debt cancellation loans adventure, before Buhari switched to foreign reserve and loans on full throttle?

The one who clearly saw harder times ahead and warned of it in 2014?

These tribal legend don't cease to amaze me.

The problem with you people is crass propaganda. You think other Nigerians are stupidd? You think they don't know how things were under Jonathan, Buhari last days and after Tinubuu took over? Inflation alone since Tinubuu took over has gone up by over 500%. A drug I used to buy for my son under Buhari, even in his last days in May for 7500, is now 55000. This is to tell you things were way better under Buhari.

Okonjo iweala predicted what we are going through today since Jonathan days they were borrowing money to pay salaries, Sanusi also said the same thing but Emefele kept quiet and was borrowing and chopping money till the end of he and his boss tenure.

I wish she'd considered in '23 and hope she might in '27.

Nigerians though don't seem ready to be ruled by a mother, it seems.

Re: Okonjo Iweala Should Be Invited To Help Nigeria by DeLaRue: 5:36am On Feb 17
Few months before the end of Mr Jonathan's era, the federal government in which she was coordinating minister for the economy started borrowing to pay salaries despite the government having consistently received the largest crude oil revenues in the history of Nigeria.

Under her watch the money was all squandered or stolen by the likes of Deziani and other GEJ/PDP larkies.

Her excuse was that she advised the government to save but that it didn't. Absolute tosh. Why didn't she resign? People should stop trying to re-write history.

Also, she never faced an economic situation as tough and complex as we have today so we simply don't know if she would have been any better than those performing similar role now.

It's easy to be a finance minister when the government is making record revenues from oil revenues and bandits are not disrupting farming on such scale as we have presently.

The truth is, she was never really tested in the sort of economic conditions and circumstances as we have now. Any suggestion that she would handle the current situation better is pure speculation. We simply don't know.

Let her help herself.
In 2014,even before Bubu came on board,Nigeria was borrowing money to pay workers even with the humongous money the govt made at that time.
Everything was swallowed.
Somebody who failed when there was plenty...
She doesn't have the capabilities of the people there now.
For Nigeria to grow, harsh decisions must be taken with great capabilities.

What the hell will she do?

What magic will she perform?

Is she not from the same IMF, World bank people whose prescribed policies Tinubu is following to the letter?

What will she do?

Nonsense.

If you want real change in this country, the first thing is to ditch all these pro-western officials like Okonjo Iweala.

It is their failed IMF policies like devaluation and public spending cuts that brought us here.

Okonjo Iweala should not interfere in Nigeria's issue at the current state so they don't tarnish her image.
Just let Nigeria keep rolling the way it's rolling.
When Nigerians finally have it, they'll know what to do.

like awolowo, Tinubu was the best also, until he was tested. Ebi mpawa people are full of propaganda, noisemaking and criticism of others. They always like fronting themselves as intellectuals when others are in a position of authority. Give the power you'll see that they are incredibly incompetent and very irritating and arrogant loudmouths.

This is their government, and we must all watch them sink the ship.

Read my comment, I didn’t rate Awolowo as a president, but as a FINANCE MINISTER in the cabinet of Yakubu Gowon. Awolowo remains the best finance minister we’ve ever had.
