When she died, and her kids opened her strongbox, they found a hefty amount of money inside.).Some even keep it at shops. And as Naira is a free fall, it is not a good asset to store value, therefore many people change their Naira to dollar and aka store it under their pillow at home.

Criminal intent for keeping my own money at home? As long as where my money comes from is verifiable, I don't see a crime. This is what I do, the only money I have in banks is the money I use to make more money. My savings are in dollars and they are at home. Even if you use juju, you no fit find am but it's there. Na me build my house so na only me know where to find it. I'm a building contractor and I've built many houses for people with such hidden structures before, especially small politicians.
