Nah. Nobody says we shouldn't float the naira. However, you should only do that when we have enough FX earning sources. At this point, market forces will determine the value of the naira. If you don't, you put your country in a mess like Tinubu has done today.

Ideally, what the government was doing before was subsidizing the USD for players who really needed it and that was commendable. That was a brilliant move.

If Tinubu had remained patient for Nigeria to harness its gas reserves and increased her crude oil exports before floating the naira, things wouldn't be this terrible. We would clear all the USD debt with those sources, irrespective of how much we owed in USD.

My saying that one USD will hit 2k by next month is me being fair. It may even happen this month. That decision to float the naira now was thoughtless and stupid.
