as per you should carry excess luggage or what? lol

nawa ooo

The man expected me to carry an extra luggage because I had a backpack and a traveling bag. Funny thing is that it wasn't even easy for me at Heathrow with just my luggage. I imagined if I had an extra.

This is part of the reason people just like to dey their corner, with their family.......

No harm in accommodating people, but ones they start working, commonsense must dictate that they make financial contributions to their host (towards bills, feeding and rent).......

But they won't make financial contributions, they would start sending all their money to Nigeria (they would not even be secretive about it)........ 😜😂

Them go come tell U say you have been in this country for over 5yrs without having £5000 savings but them wey come 9months don save over £10000. Se no b JuJu b dat.

first of all, Congrats ... may the baby bring blessings to your family

£900 light bill for 2months is ridiculous.. that's crazyyyyyyy **in egungun's voice**

I fully understand their point about getting a job (permanent) first but hmmmm.. who is the student? or what kind of visa? are they applying for permanent jobs?

How long can these bills be managed like this? and they're not contributing..

Also, I think you have to choose between they moving out soon Or your £10k being a loan that might not be paid back for a whileeeeeeeeeee

my ancestor, Lexus can give advise.. he is the best to deal with these family related issues in uk post migration

Are you indirectly saying, my family network is problematic........🤣😂

Borrowed them almost 10K to process their coming. My husband and i told them they could stay with us for a while since its difficult to get apartments from Nigeria. They got a temp job and they paid their fees remaining. We asked when they wanted to get an apartmentafter 3 months, we were given a list of things they want to do before they start looking. Alott happened already,
I cannot wven begin to go into. The job contract ended, so i asked again after another month if they started looking, they said they wanted to get another job first before they start looking. Our thingss were being used and thrown away without asking, our light bill for Dec n Jan was almost 900 pounds. (They asked when theu came what bill they can pay but i told them we already laid the bill for that month and rhey shouldsavw since they just came). My hubs and i are so tired, we don't know what else to do. We dont want to make them uncomfortable but we are getting there, our family friends wanted to come visit to stay since i just gave birth(and they aren't helping at all) but they can't stay because theyre in the room and the other empty one is the nursery. Theres much more they have done but i can't begin to type.
We don't know what to do without looking like bad people or make it seem like we're sending them out.
Any advise will be appreciated.
I'm curious to find out how long did family stay with you guys untill they got their place. Maybe we're being too fast. Lol.

So after spending time in the UK you still write this type of tautological grammar

The proper word is Lend, when you're giving out you're Lending hence the proper grammar should be " Lent them almost 10K..."

Ah bos, thank you for saying this,

driving was a bit challenging o, I won't even lie, due to curvy mountains and going round it. maybe because we went at peak of shorter day longer night. but you cant go 1 mile on some certain roads without bends.

but there was enough barricade and nets sef for falling rocks.

So, after coming here, wanting to diss someone, you ended up making mockery of yourself.

1. You certainly have zero 0️⃣ understanding of what tautology is, or what it means to say something is tautological.
Granted, OP used the word ‘Borrow’ instead of ‘Lent’. Is that tautology? Hell NO!

You certainly don’t know what ‘tautological grammar’ means.

Sorry sir/maam.

You have simply been fast gamed...... Victim of insurance fraud.... I think you did not act within reasonable time, to challenge this claim.......

Do you have any pictures or videos, of the incident........

(Sorry your friend)......,😂🤣

I have been reasoning this lately. All the ones I have seen in Curry’s were too expensive for me.

Please do you have any recommendations? Something cheap but which does the job.

Judging from this being their first time on the thread, my suspicion is that the person has a list of common errors they search regularly to give their nonsense grammar lessons.

like someone said earlier, we need to hear directly from your friend

all these friends in this UK like this?

yolkman20:
Good afternoon fams,
Trust ya'll are doing great. I greet everyone.

My friend needs help, kindly read and advise.

This incident happened in Sept 2022. Shortly after, My insurance company requested I pay £4,335 for repairing a car that I never had impact with, I reported to FOS a long time ago but lately, FOS claimed they do not have jurisdiction on the matter since the second Final response from the insurance company was not submitted within the “6months rule”.

The claimant presented a video that showed no damage to the said car. They canceled my policy and made me pay the remaining pro-rated amount on the policy which was 3 months old. I paid the remaining 9 months for nothing just to avoid issues. Only for them to come back after 1 month claiming they have settled the claim and I will be responsible 100% for the damages after they took the total policy charges.

I never had any impact with the car. They claimed a scrapping sound was heard in the video sent to me as evidence, but the details of the repair they did show otherwise. They said they replaced the car bumper and painted it, and how on earth will that be 4k+. While I was still in discussion with them, they passed the case to Debt Recovery which I explained I was not going to make any comment until the insurance company was able to present the video evidence. They later passed it on to a Law firm who contacted and I explained all that happened and why I was not pleased with the amount claimed to have been spent.

The law firm now are requesting £4,335 since the Financial Ombudsman has told me they do not have jurisdiction due to the 6-month rule. Just want to get advice on what next to do as I do not have the financial capacity to pay such an amount while the Law firm now threatens with a court case.

GIVE . Dont lend.
Thats the point I was making.

I see your point and see the cliché as a guide which I follow on most occasions. However, life has taught me there's exception to every rule.
These days, on the occasions I lend, it's a sum I know would not be an undue burden on the recipient and one I know I could potentially forgo if push comes to shove. Moreso, I know who I lend to. All this has meant I've been able to help a greater number of people I'd otherwise have turned down.

Someone asked for advice about something that has given her and her family heartache but instead of rendering advice, you stated marking English lang. Pele oo Mr. Brighter grammar. grin

So after you have spent some time in the UK you haven't seen that most immigrants don't even understand English? The Europeans or Asians speak their language mostly and still, they rate them pass you. Africans love yourself so that the world can love you. If I were you I would apologise. This is not an IELTS class.
