One of the persons who use Nwakali jazz themselves. It's not Nwakali that jazzed them. Na them jazz themselves saying that he's the only one who possesses the skillset missing in our midfield.

Show us Haaland goals for his country. Let see how your Haaland would fair at the Euros first.

Let Haaland score Osi's type of goal against Roma or the header against Frankfurt then we can talk.

Comparing club football to National team footy is the silliest comparison ever!

Haaland can never give Osi's type of assist against Cagliari. So rest that talk!
National team football is hard. I don't know why. Is it the sense of patriotic passion it imbues in the players or what? Can't really explain it.

JP really sucked him dry like a discarded orange. At a time I fretful about his health especially after the Angola game.

Truth is that after that Cameroun game, our players never recovered. That match was played at a frightfully frenetic pace with our players giving their all. They climbed that hill and every other one was too much for them.

His system? Are we forgetting that Jpes adopted this ultra defensive strategy during the Afcon? I remember him playing 4-2-4 in a bid to accommodate our attackers and he was condemned.

Make una go find Okocha come oo.

Fisayo dele Bashir Ibrahim olawoyin and nwakali are creative midfielders.
There are 2 tob3 players in the npfl like that.
Yeah I remember there is one shooting stars of ibadan midfielder.
Eletu onechu ogbelu who is in esperance of Tunisia.
We just have to take our eyes off the top 5 leagues of Europe that's all..
We just need to play with 3 midfielders and release iwobi nwakali bashing or whoever we use as a creative midfielder.
We need to appreciate players who are not in the top 5 league that's all.
It's not as hard as people think.
Try one of those guys in the friendly against Argentina and see what happens.
It's a friendly and we have nothing to loose.

As per formation anybsystem with 3 midfielders will be nice. 4 3 3 352 4 2 2 2. Jp is a coach it's not rocket science.
We just need decent players and a good coach and not a generational talent like okocha.

Anti Nigerian born players. Only foreign born players good. Nigerian born players are bad.

Aina was excellent in this AFCON but komekn nearly made me look at Aina with small eyes because of his blatant bias

My point is that, we will always find something to criticize.

What I really care for is effort, passion and zeal.

All these formations - none is full proof. If he moves this way, some one will say why didn't he move that way.

Osimhen lost big chances. Nevertheless, he still tried.
He was unlucky.

The chances he missed in that first game took out of rhythm. He never regained it and bad luck again. He'd score and it will be canceled.

Nigerians make a lot of buzz online. Would the competition garner the excitement it had if we were absent or exited early? I doubt.

But I don't support that loud mouthed boastfulness our people indulge in oo nevertheless it creates hype which is good for viewership

are we the only ones doing this? wetin Kudus dey play and Ghanaians are all over the moon boasting he's the best or don't we see this too? The Cameroonians made so much noise about Abubakar, or is it only me who noticed this too?

Look, it's all about National pride and it's fun. We all see how the English too will boast that it's coming home anytime their team competes. let's not join envious Africans to believe we are too boastful when they too are not different in how feel about their teams. And you've said it all, it's good for viewership which brings in more investment and boosts economic activities.

The goal Osihmen scored against Barca would have been canceled in Afcon as they will claim it was a foul against the defender, Barca complained and explained tire but who listened to them?

We need to finally appreciate the fact that the canceled goals of Osihmen at Afcon must have affected him psychologically

It possibly did. He was just so unlucky. 4 canceled goals. The one against SA just nailed it. The ref made a good call but do you think if Osimhen had not scored, they would have reviewed that infraction? That's the bad luck I'm talking about

Osimehn not scoring at Afcon was him being humbled because of how he was treating his teammates. If you noticed at Afcon, he wasn’t screaming at his team mates anymore. Next Afcon, he will start scoring again and I hope that, he doesn’t reverts to old ways

I agree and that's why am not too comfortable with the way CAF is going about this VAR, that goal against Barca will not stand in the Afcon competition but what can we do I hope things will go in our favour. I am sure this is why Paseiro was furious against the officials in the final.

Meanwhile, this our friendly against Argentina, dem swear for us with this country abi what's the matter. Now that our ranking has greatly improved, is it Argentina we should be playing now? The Argentina sef can't they say NO haba. In the end sef they may not bring out their main team o and when we win by mistake dem go ask for a re-match. What's all this

Really? This is uniquely your own view oo. I don't see any factual basis for it. Nwabali yells at his teammates. Is that one also pride?

Your logic appears to be the more he screams, the less goals he's score because of his pride. The less he screams, the more goals he'd score because of his humility.

Yet having watched several interviews of Osimhen, he comes across as a really down to earth sort of person. In fact in his last interview, even his interlocutors commended his humility.

Probably still adapting to the league.
He gets bullied off the ball too easily. He may need to bulk up a bit.

My big worry has been his SE performance. He is yet to show anything close to his AFCON19 performance.
Chukwueze has been very disappointing as a SE player

it seems we have some sort of unsettled debt with Argentina cos why are we always playing them? 210 countries and we are always picking Argentina.
We will continue this dalliance with Argentina oo until we win them in a competitive game. Cos even at WC, except France 98, we always in the same group. So whether by chance or by choice, we are locked with them.

No dribbling again in football. Was just thinking about this this morning.

What happened? Pass, pass, morning till night. Isn't that tiring? That's why I hate tiki taka with everything in me.

Football is a game created by the romantic mind of men (before any one argues consider what a goal is - isn't that an orgasmic experience) and dribbling is the supreme romantic art.

If I were a coach there are three things I will emphasize in my players: good first touch, dribbling skills and eyes for space.

I wish South America continued to be the dominant force in football. Europeans have made football bland.

that’s the issue and when you analyze the whole thing it seem they are been paid to do this all these years

Bro in football of this era talent no dey hide and once you are good and hv a sound management team you will be fished out

Nwakali’s total transfer fee since he moved to Europe isn’t up to 3m euros when calculated so literally he is one of the chepeast players out there to snap up but decent clubs still haven’t made moves for him over the years

Like you said making it as a midfielder in this era goes far beyond tailor made long balls and defense splitting passes. You need to be strong, a runner with massive work rate as well as been a bit comfortable on the ball

They keep on hyping nwakali while the ones they deem less talented are been monitored and signed by better clubs every transfer window 🤣🤣🤣

Just imagine Onyedika of yesterday is been monitored by Barca and few epl teams for a possible transfer in the summer.

Alhassan had interest from sporting Lisbon and Hellas Verona last summer but Antwerp refused selling

Onyeka who many here tag a bench warmer and carpenter attracted laliga club Girona in the just concluded winter window but brentford refused letting him go. Even Everton came with a loan proposal which was turned down too

And they claim nwakali is better than the trio I mentioned above? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Their argument is not that he's better, their argument is that given the state of our midfield, we need him.

And you're right about South American football, I miss Samba football sha. Ok, can you recommend a different player with the long passing abilities he possesses?

This is the part that grates me.

People here will say, no, he’s not good enough but do not/cannot suggest another replacement.
In this age of football, this is the only reason why you want Nwakali in the team? Just to tanda from deep and be throwing long passes? Nothing else? Is that the creativity you guys say we are missing? And if you are a coach you will not find a solution to this long passes? You see how unrealistic this call for Nwakali is?

I will tell you something about long passes. Oliseh was a peach with his long passes. Infact out of the 9 goals or so we scored at Afcon 94, he was directly responsible for 6.

Now was that the only quality Oliseh brought to the team? So in this age of football which has progressed far beyond what the game was in 94, all you want is for a player to just be pinging long passes.

Truth is that even if we get a player to plug our midfield, many of you will still not stop calling for Nwakali. I've been on this thread for long
Mikel was still playing when this call was on. This talk about our midfield needs is just a ruse.

Well, in principle I'm all for whatever will improve our team. Let him be invited - that has been my stand.

Bro, it is not for nothing that almost all well known games - football, golf, hockey, basketball - consists of putting something inside something. If you look at a baseball ball court, you'd see that the free throw line looks like a phallic symbol. (see picture)

So a goal represents the wonderful culmination of a pleasurable endeavor made up of many dribbles and sexy penetration passes (sorry, Amokachi, I couldn't help it).

A goal scored is a communal orgasmic event - we scream, we shout, we even cry. Instinctively some players even grab their joysticks when they score.

Dribbling should not die. That is the pre-intimacy that makes everything beautiful.

I like old football and old footballers. It holds romantic charm which modern football lacks. Sometimes I feel I don't like football anymore but that's not true. I still like it. I don't just like modern football. It's too sanitized, too clean, too crisp, too unimaginative and robotic.

Ronaldinho was the last of the romantic kind of players. Once Messi retires, we will only be telling our children that this is not how chicken used to taste oo. That before it was sweeter than the bland mass of flesh they now eat. 🤣🤣🤣

May tiki taka perish!
