First off, I want to emphasize here and now that I witnessed military rules back in Nigeria from General Yakubu Gowon, to Murtala, Obj, Buhari, IBB down to the last dude before democracy came back to Nigeria in 1999.

I dare say as a Diasporan who visits that country on the regular with investments there, that military rule is absolutely NOT better than democracy anywhere in the world and especially for Nigeria that witnessed the truncation of the parliamentary system of governance in 1966.

The emphasis in my post was CLEARLY on the politicians correctimg themselves ASAP even when they make mistakes so that challenges don't escalate into major problems that become too big to handle! So, I'm against mediocrity in governance and the number of religious riots and killings from the Presidency of Obasanjo to this Presidency of Tinubu have witnessed killings of folks which would require the decentralized system of governance to stop cases of insecurity with drones and satellite tracking technologies because ALL security worldwide is localized NOT centralized! The military dictatorships too witnessed massive killings of people from major ethnic and religious riots due to favoritism on the part of the majorly Northern leadership of the the military especially the Army.

So, instead of the two bloody, needless 1966 military coups right up to the coup that removed Shehu Shagari in 1984 to the 1993 sabotage of the June 12 elections, to the kleptomaniac, Sani Abacha shoving aside in the same 1993, Ernest Sonekan who was the Interim Goverment President, self-corrections would have taken place in the polity in a non-centralized system of government.
