In a bid to give palliative measures to the hardships of the people in the nation, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has announced the launching of food banks across the country.
This he said while addressing his church members at the headquarters of the church in Canaanland, Ota on Sunday March 3rd, 2024.

Oyedepo said, “In recognition of the challenges facing the rest of the world, particularly in our country, the church by the prompting of the Holy Spirit is opening food banks along our various districts and clothing stocks. No member must beg for bread. No member must go naked. No children must go in rags.”

He also encouraged members to donate items to the food banks as God gives them grace. He said, “Put them together in our various districts, a bag of rice, half bag, one quarter a jar of oil, whatever you have for that is the New Testament Church”. Many have baby dresses stacked up in their house, bring them out. Mathew 25 v 30-40 is coming back where we are called to clothe the naked, visit the sick, and provide for the hungry.”

Hypocrite. After hundreds of thousands of lives have been ruined since twenty years people asked for this to be done. There are now more healthy ministries in the Body of Christ. Nobody is coming back to you. Eat your food

A questionable form of charity.

Newphil:
the church by the prompting of the Holy Spirit is opening food banks along our various districts and clothing stocks.
Wetin carry holy spirit enter this matter? Do you need holy spirit to know that people are hungry?

Newphil:

"No member" appears twice while "No child" appears once in the paragraph that addresses the target beneficiaries of the palliatives. So, the emphasis is on "members". So, is it only for your Church members? Is the aim really to help the poor and the needy or do you just want to do bonanza for your members? No wahala. But this takes my mind to the fact that selfish people like Betta Edu are there.

E get why Naija Business is the source of this post. Who remembers when this Church sacked a pastor on the ground that the pastor was not fruitful? I want anyone to explain the fruitfulness expected from the pastor.

Now, the Churches have started give out food....I'm sure this child of Vipers on social media will avoid this....but the moment something goes wrong in the church....they will immediately turn themselves into keypad warriors...and start typing what they don't know jack about

Your likes are not seeing things as they are. There was a generation that really built the church contributing immensely, this man kicked them away empty handed. Many serving up to 10-20 years. He used statements like if thus ministry diesnt pay you, go. People who served and laboured and fellowship for two decades left in tatters empty handed.

He kept hoarding and hoarding resources so people wont come close to him or his family if their needs were settled and they had rest from financial troubles. He was always on the guard so quality care doesnt reach people who needed it. As a result, many lives got damaged, people misled and their lives battered.

Much of the geenration that laboured are dead, badly deformed, many damaged. Yet these things were cried for for over 20 years. One oga refused only compensating loyalists.

The motive is no longer pure and the intention can not be trusted. The time it was needed has gone. He refused any avenue to allow people grow because he wanted to be the only one standing. Death is close as old age is teaching hard lessons. However he tries to restitute, what of the friends we had that died during hard times ?

Those of us who have come to know him behavior are not deceived. He should eat his food. No one is returning to his church. There are healthier ministries thesedays. The era is gone. Long gone. He should eat his food, soend his trillions on arks and large auditoriu , but we who have known what he represents will mever ever identify with him again. Never

This will really go a long way if implemented.
I hope he will be the highest donor

Last Last, it is the local church pastors that will loot majority of the food stuff

For only members? Maybe it's a soul winning strategy. But it should be extended to everyone in need. He should sell some of his private jets and be the first giver. Just as the scripture says;

Luke 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth

Were your own amongst those who died from his lack of Godly leadership and stewardship? Have you seen people who first habd gave their all only to be ruined by his bad leadership?

The man is one i have come close to as close as having childhood friends who are in constant personal touch with him. And i yet say, he is an unhealthy human being that should be avoided at all costs. We were the ones there, up close and personal who saw things first hand and had personal touch, so when we talk, it is witness to what we experiencedand not out of spite of any form.

My greatest regret in life was being a member of his following. My second greatest regret is not leaving earlier than I did

If you have this many people that were purportedly ruined under the Bishop, they should come out and talk. You cannot be their mouthpiece. If you were a victim yourself, then relay your story.

My brother, I have someone who has suffered for 13 years under that church, a month after his wedding, he was "released"! This guy cried his eyes out, omo, the slavery going on in that Church alone, he kept saying he regretted no joining some of his colleagues who stole and ran away. Imagine a Pastor working there for 35 years and not having a landed property, he was given 600k as severance after everything. (Township District of the Church in Port-Harcourt)

His son that recently left him to start his own church was put in charge of salaries once and he the son immediately increased the salary by 200% , next you know Isaac was sent away for foreign mission and the salary reverted to the previous stage.

Do you also know that posting of Pastors is one man know man levels?

If church no do yba complain, church don make attempt now, you are still lamenting and looking for faults.

You want child to appear how many times

If members benefit wouldn’t their children benefit as well, cos I honestly don’t understand your point..more churches, individuals, groups and organizations should be encouraged to do this, all these things you are typing is irrelevant, most important thing is this should be followed thru and sustained

Normally I don’t rate Nigerian pastors, but this act is commendable, if you have something to say, gather people in your neighborhood and do what you think is right for the poor and less privileged, otherwise move along, TGIF🤝
