Easy to say.
Y'all would have allowed him time to not get results but instill a style of play?
Ordinary 4-0 loss to Brentford lamentations everywhere

He couldn’t stand the pressure and threw away his tactics and methods.

He panicked. He should have pushed through with his system and style changes in his first season, because that was when people might have been understanding, especially if we noticed an improvement in quality of play towards the end of the season or in the early parts of the 2nd season.

The blame is partly on him however for being so poor a training ground coach that after a full preseason his players started the season like he had never trained them and conceded goals so easily. Some of the blame is on the lazy and technically limited players also.

The players are not technically good enough to play the attractive football Shitty and Assanal play (also partly due to his recruitment incompetence), BUT they are not so bad that Luton Town, Wolves, and Burnley should be dominating possession against us and every team we face gets dozens of shots against us.

He needs to go because he willfully wasted the club's money on mediocre players, and because in his 2nd season the team's play has regressed. All these scrappy 1-0s and 2-1s are not sustainable and are papering over huge cracks in player quality and in team structure.

No he won't. He was hired to come and clean up the team and make the team play a certain way. Nobody is dumb enough to expect that and also expect us to compete for major trophies in the first two seasons.

Its delusional to think we will make top 4 playing like this. That can only happen if the other teams around us suffer some serious injuries or point deductions.
We had a good first season by all standards and was supposed to build on that this season. But how's one supposed to build on anything with the amount of injuries we've had this season?

You keep hammering on playing style. Why are you dancing around the fact that we'd be languishing somewhere around 13th if we had tried anything else apart from being realistic?

The biggest indictment on Ten Hag is recruitment. That's the reason a few injuries drastically reduces the technical quality on the field. But thank God the whole structure is changing.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ChristoBam: 3:55am On Mar 12
Are people now saying they'd be happy if we were languishing in 12th but playing good footy and bossing possession stats.

I've watched enough Chelsea games to know this is a huge lie. In reality, results matters.

I can't look at that backline, then watch Casemiro, Mctominay and Bruno do their thing, then delude myself that the manager should be playing good footy while getting the results.

After 2 years, with 400m spent, we should have have a better squad, right? But mistakes were made. Good thing is we can step into the future confidently with this manager because we now have one of the best structures in Europe.

One reason I'm even super confident Ten Hag is staying is I've seen people go through managerial options and no one on the list is that special. Not one.

On numerous occasions here, there have been attempts to forcefully redefine the job description of a modern day football manager...

Whether it is a deliberate attempt to push an agenda or maybe it's just some form of knowledge gap, it remains unclear...

ETH singlehandedly chased a "whole" CR7 out of the club but we are to wait for the board to initiate a clear out for the manager

Okay o

ETH did what?

Ronaldo got himself out of the club. ETH did nothing.

LOL I have not even started hammering on playing style. What we have right now is a lot of laziness, no coordination, some players all over the place that we don't know what exact role or position they're playing, sacred cows, scapegoats etc. Bro we have not gotten to playing style yet, relax.

With his reputation coming into Man u and the craze for winning, any coach not named Guardiola would have panicked. The difference between you guys and others is that Una legends too dey para ontop Una club matter when any small thing happened.

You guys don't have the players and with the uproar over the first two games and the kind of limited/deficient players he had, I doubt you guys wouldn't have mind if you finished the season outside top 6 and even without a trophy. Hindsight is a beautiful thing they say cheesy

Also Knowing the kind of owners who listens to fans more than logic, I doubt Ten Hag would even have lasted here after first season with poor results.

He’s a decent coach but he’s a terrible judge of player skills and characters. And he overinflates his scouting abilities - he‘s not as good as he thinks he is.

Tell me why ETH, after meeting the team and watching a few games the season BEFORE he resumed work at Man Utd, couldn’t identify the weaknesses of these players?

If he were as good as his hype at that time, he would’ve gotten rid of some of these players BEFORE he came in. Didn’t he want special powers on transfers? How come he squandered that power (plus including plenty club funds) on players like Antony and co?

He’s very naive. He is still setting up to score goals and win games by any means even though the performance is terrible. This is not the Eredivisie where your opponents don’t have quality players. Those bad performances will catch up with him 100%.

He’d have some leeway if this was his first season. But come on! You’ve been with these guys for over a year and, worst come to worst, you still can’t play to their strengths.

The matter tire me. Clear out the team let it be clear to everyone that you don't have first team players anymore. Force the board hand to splash money on the transfer window. But then they have splashed and he used the money to buy otondo and rejects from other clubs

The things people say baffle me.

No one can bring that excuse of players here again. Cos the players these guy has brought in have now become deadweight.

If the owners truly listen to fans more than logic, Ole will still be here by now. If only they truly listened to fans, we won't be in this ETH mess.

When did the legends start paraing? Was it not recently, after many years of decline, that they couldn't take it anymore? And I think it was majorly Scholes that was hardly ever happy or satisfied. These legends also had problem with Mourinho more than any other coach for obvious reasons. In fact, I believe they were impressed with ETH history, his brand of football, and what it means for the club. I repeat ETH had enough goodwill to ride any storm in the first year or so at Manchester United

For wasting our funds on Antony, Mount, Malacia and co he deserves a thousand lashes.

For failing to implement an attractive and relatable style of play after nearly 2 years while Spurs and Villa have done it in less time than that he deserves another thousand lashes.

He met players that were not capable of playing attractive, possession football and bought more players that are not capable of playing attractive, possession football. He has himself to blame.

That's what you get when you've got a disjointed team. We're at survival mode at this point.

Can you imagine Lindelof might be our left back for the rest of the season. The clueless medical team told Ten Hag he'd have 2 fit left backs in January. Reason we let Reguilon go.

We just need the players to show more zeal and the coach should stop making light of the situation. We're in a terrible situation, and he needs to show it. Moreover he is not the only ones with injuries. Whatever the case is, this current team with all the injuries can do better. You have to accept that

Do you remember people used to tackle me seriously whenever I brought up injuries as an explanation to what was happening?

Everyone's now calmed down with that. They now kinda accept it. What do you think is the reason?

It's because they saw us get Martinez, Shaw back and then saw us actually start doing something. We had our biggest win all season just 2 games or so after we got Martinez back.

The problem is clear but people want someone punished for this terrible season. So they automatically go after the manager.

So we probably should be doing better in all aspects. But given the circumstances, I'm more lenient on the manager.

Ten Hag is not without his own faults. He asked for specific powers before he signed and then completely fvcked up an already fvcked up situation with that power. How else would you explain the unnecessary cash splashed on Antony and co?

For me, his coaching acumen and pedigree looks okay. But overestimating his ability to bring in the right players for his style casts shadows on his deductive abilities as a manager and as a human being.

Would he had gotten the same power if he had gone to a Newcastle or Bayern?

Any manager would want that type of power. It's the dolts that gave it to him you should blame. I mentioned it here that time. How can you bring in a manager from Ajax that had no experience of bringing in talents and expect him to suddenly develop that ability?

Apart from that, Murtough's answer to missing out on De Jong was Casemiro. That says a lot. We probably would be in the same situation if Ten Hag wasn't given the power.
