Now if one reads this it appears like you are reasonable.

I have lived among hausa people too and a lot of them treat house maid with disdain

Same Yoruba

And Igbo

The one common thing you refuse to outline is that they are all women.
It is safe to say women are wicked when given little power.

Nonsense

And what is the useless head of the home doing when the house girl is maltreated?

You're both culpable.

He has a point. Women maltreat housemaids a lot. They only care about their kids.
Funny how i was discussing this same issue with a friend today and she said it's the way women are wired.

I'm not disputing that. But what is the so-called head of the house doing? You know he is also culpable right?

In the first instance, I can't marry a woman that maltreats other people's kid. I will send her packing. I also don't support child labor.

Why should you have other people's kids living with you? Why don't these so called head of the households put their foot down?

It's now he's the head of the house? What happened to equality and feminine power (responsibility)....

If he interferes it would make things worse for the maid, it would be implied that he has some sexual attraction to her and that would worsen her situation, besides the maid would become a woman one day and if she has anyone working beneath her she will most likely replicate the cruelty.

It's a feminine cycle of cruelty

Life and circumstances. People who send their kids away often have no option.
When i was little. My mum's sister kids were living with us. The way my mum catered for them, everyone just assumed they were my sisters and not cousins.
Long story short, my mum is now late and my cousins are all grown up and married. They never stop talking about my mom, the bond we have is really strong, i treat their kids like mine. Love transcends generations if it's genuine.

Life can happen to anyone. If you find someone cohabiting with you, please treat em well. No one knows tomorrow.

The head may be busy at work and may not know what's going on. She might pretend to be nice to her when the head is around. Don't you see the same in Nollywood movies?😔

Why should you have them in the first place and not put your foot down when you see the maid being maltreated?

In the eyes of the law, both of you are culpable, stop making excuses.

Invest in extra gadgets instead of maltrating people's children.

Put your kids with a proper babysitter and don't be cheap. Nothing like househelps abroad. You will learn.

I see how you're saying they can both be busy, yet you guys will turn around to say women own maids because they're lazy. Okay now.

Are you a mother?
Or yet to be?

The babysitter can be anyone.
Let's be practical.

What law are you talking about, i remember all the different punishment I endured in my school for crimes I didn't commit (usually by women), police officers make arrest sometimes without probable cause, soldiers beat people up for the tiniest excuse, the soldiers were themselves beaten up for the tiniest excuse during their training...

The point is, the law sees all this maltreatment going on and it does nothing why?

"Because we were only trying to discipline them and teach them a good life lesson"

That is the excuse the women will give in court and since the female lawyers are themselves guilty of this the women will most likely get a free ticket.

Yes, some women are aggressive and may bring up a fight or quarrel because that. Some men being gentle, may overlook somethings for peace to reign in the home.
