Yes, for the WWC, but not the Olympic qualifiers…

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:10pm On Apr 03
The Portland Thorns vs Racing Louisville game was played before the Bay FC vs Houston Dash game this past weekend.
For some context, San Jose (Bay FC) to London flight time is about 13 hrs, while Portland to London is about 9 hours.
Considering the antics of the NFF (cheap flights with Multiple stops and layovers), who knows.

It doesn't have to be the WAFCON, just cited that as an example. It could be reducing the qualifying rounds the teams had to play but restricting the number of participants.

In Europe for instance, they don't play qualifiers for everything particular for ages trade competitions. They just either look at ranking of the top four teams or who won a prior competition. CAF for instance could limit qualification to the first 20 ranked teams or something which automatically reduces the number of rounds.

Not NFF’s fault ?
Not players fault ?
Easily ? Current African champions, they also got to round 16 in the last World Cup

Imagine it was super eagles and a World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
Frank Onyeka, Bassey, Ndidi, Ekong, osimhen are missing 48 hours to the game
grin
We are not serious
The South Africans are better at coordinating and organisation
Only thing we can bank on now is raw talent, prayer, rush hour experience, luck & heart. Who wants it more and can take the initiative on the field
The schedule was out a month ago
Just EXCUSES if you ask me

This means the South Africans are ready for the game today
I hope we can fine tune things before kick off time
Maybe they’ve already got the tactics & plan sorted out in a group chat
Early to camp may not really matter though
That’s how Morocco team that went to Ivory Coast got to camp early before Victor Osimhen
Before the New Year and still got knocked out in the quarter finals by South Africa

Abi u want them to send private jet? Isn't it the ticket available that u buy? I don't see what the NFF would have done to get people in earlier.
South Africa didn't play this bunch at the WAFCON. Our midfield is much better than it was and that is where that game was won.

I hope you also know this isn't an isolated case. The same thing happened with the Super Eagles the last world cup qualifiers. The NFF scheduled the games so close the players were fatigued and this contributed to the double draws we had.

I remember a super falcons player explaining why travelling for national duty isn't a joy sometimes. The NFF for the most part look for cheap tickets for them. They sometimes have to have 2 stops before arrival because the NFF will rather go cheap than buy a direct flight. Little things like this go a long way.

The window is from the 1st to the 9th I don't think scheduling was up to the NFF. The Morocco vs Zambia games will be played on the same days as us.

At the end of the day 9 days is just not enough.

I remember Onome Ebi shutdown Thembi Kgatlana during the 2018 WAFCON final and she was useless all through the game… If Halimatu Ayinde can keep Lauren James at Bay… Who’s Thembi that they can’t handle?

Give her to Ayinde or Abiodun then she will start moving from wing to wing and gets frustrated out of the game!.

Or Better-still Christy Ucheibe can Close her down from the CB position too…!

Henceforth I really want to see Randy give our CB’s and DM’s especially the Younger Ones to Mark out the Star Players (Major threats of the opponents)..

Blessing Demehin especially, I want to see her Marking Game! Ohale used to do the job back in the days against the likes of Birgit Prinz, Inka Grings, Alexander Popp, Melissa Tancredi, Salimata Simpore etc! But Age is no Longer on her side..!

We need Younger CB’s at least 2 to join Ohale, Blessing Demehin and Plumptre just in Case..!

Ohale deserve top accolades. She's toooo consistent and always available and doesn't disappoint to the extent I've forgotten the last time she messed up at the back. A sort of Saliba/Nesta.

This isn't correct. FAs determine when they when they play within a window even though CAF/FIFA ratifies. There were rumours NFF had initially chosen 2nd of April for the first leg, I remember Deltamani raised the alarm here and many other persons did before there was an intervention at the NFF. Also the Morroco Vs Zambia example won't suffice since I can easily bring up difference in dates in the last qualifying round. We played Cameron 23rd of February in the first leg and chose 26th for the return leg in Abuja when other teams in Africa chose 27th and 28th to play. They did same thing for the Super Eagles. Again this isn't the first time it's happening.

This thing is something the FA really needs to look into how do Ohale and Ihezuo who plays in the same Club reports to camp on different Days entirely… almost 2 to 3days apart! What’s their traveling Plan? They probably will be living in the same Hotels or close by…! This isn’t right at all, even if they have Family and other issues to attend to they should probably pick one either their Personal issues or the Camp cause this game is very Crucial…

Esther Okoronkwo who plays for Changchun Dazhong WFC Coming from China just landed Yesterday Night… Common They played their League Games on Sunday 31st in the Morning…. If she had Left China on Monday Morning at least on Wednesday Morning would have been enough to get to 9ja…

Maybe is how NFF fixed their travel schedule that’s why… Cause they do stop over at least once or twice before getting to Nigeria here…

The Olympics qualifiers Match is Expected to be a very Hostile Match- Coach Desiree Ellis

“They’re still one of the best teams on the continent. They’ve been serial winners (Nigeria have won 11 of 14 WAFCON titles) and have been consistent over the past few years. It will be a tough match because they haven’t been in the Olympics since 2008 and their team has changed a bit since we last played them (at the 2022 WAFCON)."

FAs determine dates but what other date would you chose in this situation? They damn sure cant play on the 6th cos that will leave too little time for the 2nd leg. Honestly i don't care about rumours bro let's talk about what we both can see. The fact is that we are playing on the 5th and that is the best day possible

That game exposed a lot of things. Especially how ordinary we made Sarina seem. We no suppose treat Randy the way we did after such a big big show of class. Nff. It also made me entirely angry that the mental preparation of the ladies stopped downloading at 70%.
How come you ladies weren't prepared for penalty kicks knowing you have one of the top 3 world pk savers in Chiamaka Like howwwww? The euro champs were scared to the core, more than us. We had it in our hand and dropped it again. 😔😑

The what ifs is even more painful. Especially if we got to finals. Oh my!!!

I am not criticising the date chosen. I think the 5th is just the perfect date. My argument is that they could have planned the logistics for our players better in such a way that the last person arrives latest Monday save for persons with personal issues to attend to.

Late arrivals may derail Super Falcons fears ex-star

The late arrival to training camp by the Super Falcons could work against them tomorrow against South Africa in a crunch 2024 Paris Olympics playoffs, according to former star Stella Mbachu.

While Banyana Banyana of South Africa have been in camp for the past two weeks, their Nigerian counterparts have only trickled in this week as most of them are based overseas.

Star player Asisat Oshoala is only expected today.

Mbachu said this shoddy build-up will affect the cohesion of the Super Falcons.

“Coach Randy Waldrum is a good coach, but he needs time to work with the players,” she said.

Other African teams like South Africa have worked with their home-based players and it has worked for them.

“We also need to do same.”

However, despite the chaotic preparations by the Falcons, Mbachu will still back them to win the home game tomorrow on their way to qualifying for the Paris Olympics.

“The Nigerian spirit of determination will see the team through,” she predicted.

Arrived Monday after playing on sunday night ?

First question is how many players played in Sunday night? The answer is just one and that's Nicole. Every other person played latest Sunday Morning. So yes they could all have arrived latest by Monday.

For Esther, I tried to check the Chinese league and I'm not even sure they had a game last weekend. Of course other things could have kept her that we are not privy to. So 95% of our squad were done with club business by Sunday morning and could have arrived camp latest Monday if planned properly

NFF did Contributed to the SuperFalcons lose of Momentum especially the break they gave Randy Negotiating Contract while Justin Madugu was in charge..

What NFF would have possibly done was to retain the whole Coaching Crew that worked with the team at the World Cup, Terry the Game reader and Match Analyst is not even with the team right now as I know too well that he also Contributed a lot to the team Performance!

I can’t talk much about Justin Madugu and Ann Chiejene presence in the team but Ann look more active than Justin in team till date, The only time Justin was really active was when he was made Acting Coach during the period of Randy Absence due to contract Negotiations.
