So a friend shared something with me, but this mostly applies to people already outside or in the EU, you can actually pay a lawyer to get something called a Portugal activity for freelancers, this can help with getting a Tax number and with that one can apply for a job, currently looking at that, and if you already have an EU visa, you can easily go to portugal and while for the application.

Hoping to have more research on this. It's for freelancers

Thank you for this beautiful information
About how much do you think the lawyer would charge?
Let's say one is a freelancer(KDP publisher) but not earning much from it. Will that work?

Good day boss. I got this response this evening

Hello bro,
Sorry for the refusal. Do t give up. Re-apply.

In my case I tried to appeal but VFS told me I would pay appeal fees which was almost equal to new application, so I did not appeal again. Luckily for me the day February 6 2024, I got my refusal, VFS Abuja portal was open, I was able to book again against March 21 ,2024 so I have enough time to gather extra support documents and also, i wanted to reapply in Lagos to avoid spending air fare and hotel Costa to Abuja. However from that Feb 6 till date , I have not heard of VFS open for appointment in Lagos or Abuja. So I ended up travelling again to Abuja on March 20, did VFS application on March 21 and returned to Lagos on March 21. This week is the third week since I applied, so I am optimistic. My first refusal came in 6 days from application, today is 18 days from my second application.

I noticed when I first applied, most of the people attending to clients were new trainees. I knew because they kept moving them from desk to desk and I over heard a supervisor telling them that one someone will come and train them in another room and some of the girls at the desk said, " Thank God" , meaning they were not ready in confidence on what they were expected to do. What annoyed was that the experienced lady who attended to me first time removed some of my docs like past UK, France and Portugal visas and said its not necessary, that Portugal embassy has my records . I also think my letter my not have been good enough.
In my second application, nothing was removed, the woman who attended to me did not remove anything.

Check your PCC , if it is not expired, reapply if you can get appointment, but VFS now has become something else to get appointment date. I was lucky I booked the Abuja date for appointment as I was thinking if I get Lagos date, I will ignore the Abuja appointment, but I have not been able to get Lagos appointment. Even someone who was willing to exchange or sell her appointment to me, VFS said appointment was not transferable, so I went to Abuja. I am hoping for the best

No dependent can join you until you get job seeker visa, go to Portugal, get a job and work permit and apply for temporary resident permit. Before they can join u

People should stop thinking these countries are stupid. They cannot throw their doors open to every one when the people coming don't have stable means of subsistence and they are coming with extra people. They are learning lesson from Italy. Italy is overwhelmed with illegal immigrants coming by boat from Libya, no paper, no money , no job. It's tax payer money tha they will use to handle their matter. So don't be surprised is Italy has a high refusal rate for visas

Thanks for the detailed response.
In my own case, I think I was the cause of the refusal due to my impatience.

I submitted my documents at the vfs March, 25th, so since I didn’t hear from them since that day, I sent them a mail yesterday evening, and in less than an hr, I got a rejection mail.

It came as shock to me as to why they will review my documents and supporting documents in less than an hr.

I just want to know the status of my visa application and not the decision.

They just sent a mail in less than an hr.

How am I going to get the passport back? Will they send it to the vfs or what?

And again, all my documents were completed. Even add a lot of extra documents. I’m confused on what to give them again.

Oh. That was an error on your part. It's was too early to ask. The website and other forums says it's between 30-90 days to get a decision. Some people may be lucky to get in less.

They will send your passport to you by DHL with a reason for refusal letter in Portuguese inside. Look at the letter and note which box is ticked or marked, then translate on Google translator to know exact reason

What’s the link to apply for for appointment?
If I apply again, do you think this present refusal won’t affect future applications?
