You have been learning economics from the man who receive advice from the mad man and his supporters.

Who tells you that it's just fiscal policy that influences the values of currencies?....its majorly monetary policy. Many countries have positive balance of trade but still have weaker currencies relative to Dollars.

Okay, from a lay man point of view, what increase happened to our imports within 2months of jumping from 900 to 1900??

I learnt one or 2 things from this. However, i dont think you needed to have added your first paragraph

You know that saying, anything that goes up in Nigeria never comes down.

This is the first of it kind, besides when it went up during buhari how much did it come down, even GEJ, or you forget there was a time Naira and dollar was the same.

GEJ met dollar- Naira @ 119, he left it at 230, that is almost 100% increase, oh! You think math was invented in your Geopolitical zone.

Nobody has ever forced this kind of reduction, before you quote me use your thinking cap, I don't respond to idiots.

Naira was actually 21.9 to 1 dollar when PDP too over in 1999.

As it is good news for some. It's bad news for some. Not like it can't be good news for all. But haters gonna hate. So far the president fails and their messiah is forced on us.

But e go be.

These agbadorians are very funny grin grin grin they want us to celebrate mediocrity in the face of hunger grin grin grin they should take the Naira back to N180 where they met it in 2015 before we take their agbado govt serious. cool cool cool

If this is a mediocrity but the borehole by Obi is an achievement, then you are one of those that believed Buhari was dead and cloned. No brain

Baffles how you people celebrate dollar fall with no significant value to the poor masses, food prices are very what have you done. All you do is praise sing your principal with no overall impact on the economy, tell them to go and regulate prices, not to be snapping dollar and naira value everyday

Definitely price will fall.. the greedy, selfish and self-centered ones hoarding dollars with the hope that naira will continue to fall and prices of goods and commodities will rise so they can blackmail reasonable people that rejected their candidate in the 2023 elections will be put to shame.

I think the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) should be charged by the President to go after retailers and business owners who fail to reduce their prices nationwide in line with the FCCPC Act.

Prices of everything in this country will come down.. whoever isn't ready to comply should move his/her business out of Nigeria.

When it gets to ₦500 per dollar, we'll feel the impact better.

It will crash to #200 shortly.
That Mr Cardoso is a genius.

The poster above me still lives in Mars?
Policies have taken care of saboteurs and speculators who took it to #1980 and naira, according to Bloomberg, has become the best performing currency in the world.
What was the value of the naira in April 2023?

What is bringing dollar down?
Good policies of course.
Let it continue to come down..

E pain them. My advise is, youre also likely to benefit from this policy if YOU START PRODUCING SOMETHING for people to buy instead of buying a foreign product when there is a Nigerian made alternative. Tinubu has thrown the market open and has gone after peopke that are speculating with the Naira (BDCs) and those pulling forex out of the country illegally and making dollar scarce (Binance). Its less than a year, Tinubu is a genius. OBI should ever forget being President because if Presidency goes to the southeast, I'll rather vote Dave Umahi than that guy that doesnt have any LEGACY.

I am so sorry about.
It pains me when I see people dishing out wrong knowledge out of hate or just to score a cheap political points. Most people will take that wrong knowledge and they will never have the opportunity of being corrected. I used to believe in this theory of production bla bla until an economist Schooled me well on the difference between fiscal and monetary policies and point of convergence!

Why re we so jubilant when Tinubu is correcting what he scattered. How much is a dollar when Buhari handed over? Until it goes below the amount he met;then I will take him and his policies serious.

My point is, the gradual increase is not just a factor of who is the president.

The difference between 21 naira to a dollar and 230 is over 1000%.
