@OyoTunjiUSA,

Thanks for your response.

My profile here it's my job, I the main applicant and my husband dependant. Children in Nigeria schooling not able to come with them and was told by UKVI that they can apply on their own for visiting if they wish because they are not eligible as being above 18yrs. I just clocked 1yr recently. I am entitled to leave from work. So does it mean I have to wait for 3yrs before I can apply for vacation to the US that's strange.
Have had quite a good travel history before I finally came to the UK. I have come on 6months, 2yrs visiting on vacation to the UK before I finally got this job. I have been to Dubai twice on vacation , Ghana vacation all the while i was in Nigeria, and I returned as at when stated.

I still believe that there are some people that has not stayed up to 3yrs and still got the visa.

However, like they said one of the most important thing is the information filled in your DS-160 form.

That's why I am asking for tips and guidance, probably i am not doing it rightly as expected.

Because for all my travels before now has been from the right information gathered from the Nairaland UK visiting Visa justwise, UK Skilled worker, all the suggestions and contributions I gathered when applied paved way for me.

So I am here for guidance, I don't think I have to be 3yrs before I can apply.

The last refusal I got was that I told them am going on a vacation for 14 days, and I will visiting some tourists attractions like the statue of Liberty, etc and few shopping.

Please let the suggestions and contributions come in, as open to learn

Thanks a lot

Hey 🤠

@Christabeliciou.

*** USA embassy in the UK is not soft and neither is she soft in Canada and anywhere in the world . USA embassy in Nigeria has the same mathematical rules and policies with those of UK, China, Cotonou, and others .

**** What worked for Mr A might go against Mr B because your profiles and careers are different. Don't allow sweet mouth to take away your sense of responsibilities and preparations.

1. Take it or leave it. If you just landed in the UK as a skilled worker (not up to at least 3 years ) your visa might be denied again.. ** Unless if your employer in the UK is sending you to the USA on business seminars, conference or short trainings.

2. Even as you are working in the UK, if you do not have any other tie (wife, husband, kids ) other than your job , then your visa success is even dim because lots and lots of professional workers from ExxonMobil, Banks, Toyota, MTN, NNPC etc with top salaries have absconded their jobs to the USA.

3. Check your profile and seek further opinions before you proceed. USA visa is not a piece of cake they share to you all because you are In the UK, Canada , Australia or anywhere. You have to follow and pass their visa policies and rules .

Madam,

I’m a dependant on my wife who’s a student and we’ve only being in the UK for 8 months.

Just get all necessary info, it’s not rocket science don’t let anyone put fear in you.

You have a job that you’ll be returning to, that’s very important.

1. If your questions is thrown to some set of people on Nairaland pls follow their opinions . I am a member of Nairaland and entitle to make opinions on questions that is thrown to the public. Or did you read in my suggestions that " You Must Follow What i Say ?

2. You are entitled to your leave but you are not entitled to USA visa until you follow procedures and you, having traveled all over the world is not a criterion in determining your USA visa, gone are those days when the USA embassy are tricked with such gimmicks.

3. Since you know that the most important thing is the filling of the DS 160 Form then what are you waiting for ? Go ahead and fill it and go get your visa.

Hey 🤠

1. Senior citizens like your parents does not really need to prove much ties because at their ages , they have been biologically adapted to their country of births ( habitats).

2. However, if they are both receiving federal or state retirements pensions , then that would have been a good " Loss of Income Ties . Or if your mum or dad is taking care of his or her handicapped sibling personally, that would have been another "Compassionate Family Tie. But USA consulars does not really go strong on tie proving for older applicants .

3. Their Medical (health) fitness and history is one of the major concerns of the consular offi ers . Are they physically, cognitively, and emotionally healthy enough to travel ? A letter from a reputable hospital accrediting their good healths might be okay.

4. Another important aspect is to teach them to be friendly with the CO and to let their words be the same . Our parents are demanding at times and they may yell at the consular that these visas is our rights .

Thank you!

September is later than my intended date. Is it possible to change the DHL location? I chose VI initially. Is it possible that Surulere or Isolo will have earlier appointment dates?

I chose Isolo & I’m seeing September too. I guess the location wouldn’t do any much difference
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by urchdiya(f): 2:53pm On Apr 16
I’m doing an IW for a B1/B2. I chose the option of dropping off at the DHL office in isolo. After booking my appointment, I see the print out has appointment details at Lagos Embassy and document pickup at DHL Isolo. While still stating the applicant visa category is “visa renewal without interview”.

So my question is, the date and time is chose for the appointment is it when I’d go to DHL and drop off or I’d still drop off at the embassy?

Hello

Please If I go for a visitors visa with the excuse that I'll stay for 2 weeks in the states and it's granted, does it mean that if the 5 years validity is given, that I can stay long as much as i want, well into that 5 years and there will be no issues.... ?

I am trying to renew my B1/B2 visa via dropbox option. But the appointment dates I am seeing are as far as Sep 2024. Are dropbox appointments (to drop off documents) usually that far, or have I done something wrong. I cant get any phone number to call US consulate to even talk to customer care.

Please help.

Many thanks

The B1/B2 Visa is valid for 5 years with multiple entry.
You can't stay as much as you want on a visit or entry, because CBP or I94 is restricted to 6 months per entry.
You should use your first entry as stated in your application, though circumstances change.
If you stay as much as you want - 8 weeks, 9 months, 2 years - on a single visit/entry, then what happens to your job, business and/or school you said you have in Nigeria (profile) when you applied or at your interview?
Your renewal or subsequent immigration plans with the US will be judged based on all you do.

International students in Canada planning on traveling to the US for tourism needs a U.S. Visitor's Visa. Only countries that are part of the VWP (Nigeria is not) do not require a visit visa.

Hey 🤠

1. Your F1 visa faith is bright if you align your application reasons very well , and the procedure to apply for B2 visa is absolutely the same thing but the slight different is that you are already in North America.

2. The USA embassy will want to make sure that you are a genuine student in Canada who has done all registrations, have I'd cards , being attending classes since your Arrivals and perhaps evidence of tuition payments might be asked as well as confirmed housing.

3. Let's assume that you passed the above marks, don't you think that 4 months is too small to start leaving classes and junketing around in the USA in the name of tourism ? Have you even visited major Canada tourist sights like the Niagara Falls? Why not wait till like Xmas time or long holidays ? You can visit your course mates who are Americans by invitation .

4. If you have decided to make your move by all means, then why not talk to some course mates for group visits to a tourist sites in the USA ? You might also be able to do a "semester abroad " or exchange semester in the USA from your Canadian institution. Just try align your visiting towards your study. Cool down and strategize very well ok ? You are in Canada already, don't rush to the extent that the USA embassy in Canada would mark you down as a truant and intending immigrant.

Hey 🤠

*** Your question is kinda not clear but let me figure it out .

1. If your dad is stucked to Sept that means he has exhausted reschedule option slots and the only lifeline is for him to apply for an Emergency Appointment.

2. Alternatively, he has the option to cancel his present appointment from Lagos and chose Abuja. He should not cancel his present appointment IF HE HAS DONE SO B4.

3. Is your dad on IW too ? It's seems you are on IW but your dad is on normal appointment and you want your pick up to tally with his interview ? I am not too clear . Perhaps another experienced member can assist.
