The way dollar will jump 🦘🦘🦘 back to 2000 like a kangaroo will be brutal this time because what they have been doing is artificial depreciation of the dollar. Once the reserves they used in servicing the forex finishes, it will go back to high. It's not the first time, Buhari did the same thing. That's the reason Nigerian foreign reserves went down recently. If the naira is naturally appreciating against the dollar, it will instantly reflect on the prices of Products in the country

ojun50, People who buy wholesale goods to retail often want to sell their products at the old price. When they purchase new products at a lower cost, they will reduce the price... Give it time...they still has old stocks otherwise They want to cheat on the buyers by selling the the new products with old prices to make fast money.

Food prices are skyrocketing every day and no end in sight. So, telling us that your worthless naira has made some gain against the $ is of NO consolation to the citizens who are facing tremendous hardship and hunger.

The main thing I appreciate about this government is the way they have been able to close the gap between cbn rate and black market rate...just 30 naira difference. This will discourage round tripping. If you know how crazy round tripping was during Buhari's tenure you will also appreciate this. The gap was 300 plus, and some people were cashing out at the expense of our economy.

This current government has A LOT OF WORK TO DO, but on this, I salute them.

You got this one wrong bro. Prices of local goods takes a while t depreciate. Reasons
1. A local regulatory body can sit and regulate the prices. Or
2. The next planting and harvesting season will determine the prices of local produce.
3. If goods are transported in the current diesel priced, the cost will slightly depreciate.

Note: a bag of Olam rice recently sold at N72,000 is currently sold at N58,000 in Lafia.
Let's just hope naira keeps appreciating and Nigeria will be a better place for all of us
