Osimhen made it through an open screening. He did not even make the first cut. It was an assistant that intervened and told Amunike to give Osimhen another shot and Amunike watched him closely and saw his quality.

If it is with this bent system, Osimhen won't go near.

Recommendation is not a free pass into a squad. It is to join the screening process among the selected ones.

In this case, even the coach did not select the players. Let us call a spade what it is. This is wrong and terrible. We have suffered recently in the U17 because of stopping the open screening process. It is the key ingredient that makes us stand out.

By the way, this is not about recommendation but a corrupt selection. The NFF should openly defend the selection process or hide their heads in shame.

Finito.

The best players don’t have transportation and hotel money to come to Abuja for trials

Not to mention the resources it’ll take to joining a top academy and have a slim shot at trials

Our future in youth football is not bright at all

Fun fact did you know our 2019 u-17 main team

Lost twice to a group of players from delta state that came for the u-17 trials but in the end none of those players from delta state made the team 🤣

Some of the players were carried along to Brazil as fans i nearly faint

Tell me something. 😂

Why do we hold open trials for the best sprinters and Olympians all over the country to attend

But once it comes to soccer the coach knows best

The only player Yekini had real language understanding with is Amokachi and it’s Hausa language.

Yekini speak Hausa better than Yoruba, cuz of it he was more closer to Amokachi,so Amokachie was not beefing Yekini then but I can say Siasia fall out with Yekini after Cote d’voire match cus Yekini took it personal.

Siasia lost his position to Amokachie due to that missed, not due to his overall performance.Keshi was like no it happened in football and why Siasia should be turned to villain. After this the team camp broke into groups and Westerhoff saw it and called a meeting that no Siasia I did it for football reasoning.

Tactically Okocha was sacrificed for Siasia during US94 but things went soar before Italy match,Siasia had training bust up with Oliseh which made Westerhof to axed him from starting line up,some players are not happy with that decision.

Nigeria missing 96 Afcon, saw another strong group of players emerging from Atlanta 96 and did all they could do to block US 94 players from forming new nucleus of eagles.Checking out 98 WC team, injuries and poor friendlies matches brought Rufai,Yekini,Eguavoen,Okafor and Iroha back.

If you check it out Amokachi stabbed Keshi at the back during Afcon 2013 and stabbed Siasia on under 23 job….Oliseh love criticizing Keshi and Siasia at any given moment. This is to tell you the beefing in eagles.

I just hope they all support Amunike this time around

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkDbTSYhCxI?si=HQm7NNv18yy12wMC it was after watching this I knew Oliseh and Sia1 aren’t friends. According to Siasia he was dropped for the Italy game because he and Oliseh fought during training

you people should try to act reasonable na, there’s a tournament in few weeks time but you are here asking the coach to do open screening. There are academies scatter all over the country, Garba is a coach with plenty experience at youth level so you think unless egunje he can’t assemble 50 players ?

The NFF has a functioning under 15/16 team since Amaju era. The team is made up of the best young talent across the country. They were recently denied visa by Spain for a UEFA under 16 tournament. Read the news to know whatz up, not everything be fraud. Rest!
I hate this thing Nigerians do, they see a headline and just conclude it’s definitely fraud at work. Never seen a bunch of people who hate their country so much like Nigerians

You must be silly for saying this

If you took your son to the trials and they turned you back that the team is full

Same team that was claimed to be assembled few days ago then you wouldn’t be saying this

it was a week long competition and it was for our u15. If they went for the tournament they would have been back and it would have been good preparation for the WAFU B and besides Manu's work does not extend to the u15 as they have a separate coach named Patrick bassey. So it's either the NFF or the Spanish embassy are lying.

The point is nff should have known about the tournament for months or a year
So should the potential coaches that’ll selected for the job

So saying there’s not enough time sounds really dumb

But there’s enough time to carry out an mri and select 51 players

Yeah. Mourinho was more interested in three points, why we (City) were more interested in growing. Look at where Mourinho is today and look at what Guardiola went to achieve after some years. That is the answer. That is why we don't fret when we don't get results because we know along the way we will recoup success.
The biggest prize of a football match is victory (3 points).
How you obtain this doesn't matter inasmuch as you get the big prize m Nobody is interested in growing with tikitaka

The era is gone because of corrupt people running the system. It is now unfair and not balanced. The open screening can still be done and discover better players than those in academies. This is crap and I can smell it from miles away. Manu Garba did not assemble that team. Who did?
Did you even consider the time factor before going on 'rampage'?

Like we have a tourney soon and you want him to throw open the screening exercise. You should blame the incompetent people rather than Manu.

From reports by Colin Udoh I think, the nff had submitted the application and passports long before. The tournament was to start on the 10th and as at 8th, the visa had still not been granted. The embassy were just being clever and telling half truths. It is not the first time the spanish embassy will be denying either players or journalists visas for official tournaments and programs. The nff decided there was no point and they needed the passports for other things so decided to withdraw the passports.

I've seen a lot of conjecture on this thread, assuming and concluding either without any evidence or with unsubstantiated proof. These are things that form opinions and biases that may not necessarily be true. It's hard for any change to happen when we have biases that tell us change is not possible.

Are you saying they don't have calendar or know the date to do things at the right time. They had the time to scout, select, screen, but did not have time to appoint a coach to do it the right way. Please.
