Canadahome:I get where you're coming from. I don't have anything against Brampton as well. but when it comes to majority, you know how it is. The number of times I've gotten questions like are you vegetarian or are you Gujurati, Indians only etc just because I want to rent a place is disappointing. Driving there too is not safe you sef know for that one terrible drivers full brampton. 1 Like |

Guest911:Do not mind me, I totally understand where you are coming from. Here is more like their second country. 100 people in a bus, 98 of those people na them.😀 Yes, there are landlords too that prefer vegetarians. Georgetown and Caledon are good option but one must be driving. These cities are close to Brampton and cheaper in rent compare to Brampton. Hamilton is a good option like you said very accessible to Mississauga and a lots of Nigeria communities there. |

What do you guys think of the way Indians are taking over Canada in massive numbers? Brampton's demography is 80% Indian. And it's not like they are assimilating into the Canadian culture, they are instead forming their own parallel society within Canada, posing a threat to Canadian values. Canada is appealing to me and to many not just because of her economic opportunities but also because of her values of freedom and egalitarianism. Diversity isn't importing immigrants from only one part of the world, it is balancing the immigrants who are coming in so that diverse countries can be represented. The US understands this very well which is why Nigerians are no longer eligible for visa lottery because they have taken in over 50k Nigerians, exceeding the threshold they set for Nigerians. 8 Likes 1 Share |

One thing that jumped right at me from the start is how narrow your data point is. Brampton may be all you say it is and perhaps even worse, but it’s just Brampton- a very small part of GTA which is a very small part of Ontario, and Ontario a small part of Canada. I lived briefly in Richmond Hill years ago, and it was nothing like what you and others have said about Brampton. I’d wager folks in Toronto and other parts of GTA will say it’s different too. Yes there is probably a larger Indian population in Toronto/GTA/Canada than other immigrants some dating back several generations. But to generalize based on a very small area off me. Perhaps your post is a sign that it’s time you should move to other areas/province and really enjoy Canada😁😁 P.S: Alberta is Calling colored: 1 Like |

colored:must you live in Brampton?? Can’t you go to provinces like New Brunswick, Yukon, PEI? You never ready Indian population in Brampton is around 52% not 80% also. When you add the official numbers and indian students in Canada its not up to 3m. Can 3m people take over the remaining 38m? 🤣 1 Like |

Erm India and China combined are over 3billion people . 2 countries accounting for nearly half of the world's population. Same way other Africans feel about Nigerians we're circa 200million of say 1billion or so African population So as far as migration goes there will be more Indians or Chinese anywhere 7 Likes |

colored: I know folks have contributed to this, but I just want to share my perspective. So, if we assume the population is as large as you claimed it to be, Why is that so? Could it be because they have been in Canada for more than a century? There were some Sikh Canadians who elected to serve in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War, 1914–1918. Before you say there were also Black regiments, yes, there were, but they were not made up of 'Nigerians'. I think they have paid their dues, and if we need to examine anything about them, we can explore what has made them, arguably, the most successful immigrant group in Canada. Lastly, they do not have to assimilate into the Canadian culture; otherwise, this will be an antithesis of the freedom and egalitarianism you talked about. I think it's worth saying that the predominant approach to diversity in Canada seems to be kaleidoscope-ic. And this is the conviction that Canadian national identity is rooted in diversity rather than in the elimination of difference, and this is what shapes public discourse in Canada. Let's learn what we can from them and use it to enrich our community. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Guest911: I submitted my extract when I took and passed the G1 test on the 18th March. They said they need to verify the extract and that they will call me to let me know if they will add my driving history. Yet no call! I was told I can take the G2 whenever I want tho. Another thing: my drivers license expired yesterday. |

Guest911:Can some1 in this same situation, take G instead of G2? |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Guest911: 2:16am On Apr 24 |
aestake:You can only take full G if the experience added on your driving record is up to two years. Meaning if your Nigerian driving license was issued at least 2years ago. You can confirm with the person adding your record on which tests you're eligible to book. Very important. Drive test website can allow you book G test, but if you're not eligible for it, you will not be allowed to complete the road test and your $90 maybe forfeited. 2 Likes |

Guest911:I got it. It is for someone I know was driving in Nigeria before coming to Canada. I will have to let him know this; he told me he has the extract (N60K) now. He's preparing to do the G1 though. I drive with G2 myself till after a year for the G. Thank you. |
