Tinubu is president today. He is supposed to take charge of controlling the erosion problems in the Niger delta region. Gully erosion is devastating parts of Anambra and Imo States. Before crude oil started to be exploited, there was no gully erosion in these areas.

It's going to cost a lot of money. Add the fact that this is a project going through rainforest type climate, and a densely populated part of the country, which means a lot of money. A lot. SO, the initial cost is going to add up...and you know what that means.

The federal government of Nigeria takes charge of stopping erosion problems in Nigeria, not the state governors. Did you not know that?

Bola Tinubu as president is supposed to take charge of building erosion control systems in Nigeria. Oil exploitation in the Niger delta region is believed to be behind this erosion problems in the Niger delta region including Anambra, Abia and Imo States.

If the federal government led by Tinubu does not build required erosion control systems in the Niger delta region, but is only interested in building a coastal highway along a most marshy and merciless terain solely to connect Lagos to the coastal oil producing areas of the Niger delta region, it's a sin for Tinubu government

The soil type, human activity and poorly constructed drainage systems that have NO final termination points are MAJORLY responsible for the horrendous soil erosion in the South-East with Anambra being the erosion capital of the world according to Governor Soludo. About 10 states in the South East, South of South, and South West are affected by erosion issues though.

Indeed, I agree that the Federal Government in Nigeria must set up special intervention funds to assist the states because the cost is huge and that's why I suggested using preventive measures to start with in those states especially Anambra that has 40 percent of it's total landmass under threat.

Last but NOT least, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway/Coastal rail lines have been planned for decades and Goodluck Jonathan and Mohammed Buhari brought the projects to public knowledge. The Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has kicked off the project at last and I strongly believe it would NOT lead to severe environment degradation or erosions since this isn't the first time that roads would be constructed in the Niger Delta region spanning Ondo South in Ondo State to Delta State, Bayelsa State, Rivers State, Akwa Ibom, and Cross Rivers State.
