Ukrainian are being slaughtered like cows. Millions have lost their lives yet they keep encouraging them by giving them weapon. All zilensky needs to do is find a way to resolve things diplomatically to save his people.

The only reason why Ukraine still exists is because the president was brave enough to stay and fight, risking his own personal safety.

Putin intention was to literally kill or destroy everything prowestern in that country if he had his way.

It doesn’t work that way…
Why does America and her allies get to decide which country is independent or not?. How many countries many independent countries has America and her European cronies invaded? …
Ukraine never had nuclear capabilities. Having nuclear plant is not same thing as having nuclear capability or capacity. 30-40% of Ukraines population are native Russian speakers hope you are aware ? Are you going to throwaway this Russian speaking population to push a Nazi agenda ? ….. The more weapons they give Ukraine the more deaths Ukraine would suffer and more territory would be lost. Russia would continue cutting down Ukraine until they take Odessa.
Lastly what has been the benefit of joining NATO to Finland Sweden ? ..

It’s already a NATOs war and Russia is wining so far. Russia once liberated Europe from Nazi Germany and will do it again but this time from Nazi NATO…. Ukraine can never be the same again and they themselves are to blame for this….

America and Europe have broken every single treaty that they’ve been signatories to. They broken all known international laws to protect their lap dogs in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. So NATO has no right to police the rest of us

This is not new ...... In my trust a couple of years ago, an agency worker attended a shift, as an RMN..... His knowledge of medications was NIL, he did not even understand the concept of vital signs/readings...... He was escorted off site, by the police........

Another Agency RGN turned up at an East Kent trust, she already dosed laxatives through a syringe, and was about to give via a patient's cannula......

It's always easier to exploit the agency route.......

Interesting. Recently, an undercover reporter was able to work in a prison via an agency with little or no background check. When something becomes routine, people wrongly let their guards down.

It's not "negative" media coverage - they are highlighting facts based on their data, and discussing actions they plan to take to stop a rising trend. The issue they've flagged is that these IP (asylum) claimants are coming from "liveable" Britain and not from "unliveable" Nigeria. What merit do you think these cases will have? It's pretty much the same scenario as the boat crossers coming to Britain from Europe - how are the boat crossers regarded on this thread and outside? Do people not look down on them and question why they didn't remain in safe/liveable Europe?

I'm not sure it's wise to compare Nigerians to Albanians - the latter have an extremely poor image and as quickly as they were trooping to European nations en masse, the European nations were returning them back to Albania in the same numbers, the UK even making a "special" deal with the Albanian government to stop their citizens from coming to the UK. Look up the acceptance rate for Albanians versus Iranians for example.

You're trying to be clever by half. International laws and treaties covering assylum claims are clearly spelt out.

1. Coming through a safe country is not a ground for refusal. If not landlocked or Island nations as the UK would be able to extricate themselves from international obligations for the most part. Or all assylum claims for those arriving on boats thru France would be dead on arrival as France is a safe country.

2. I do not look down on those arriving by boats both in a personal or professional capacity and certainly do not get the vibe that folks here do. On a person note, I see many as hapless folks fleeing unlivable conditions in their home nations some of which were a result of misdemeanours by western states. In my professional capacity I have interacted with a number and treated thrm just like I would any other person infact I put in more time and effort with them as they are a largely vulnerable group. Any colleague who does differently should rightly be made to answer to their regulator.

3. Perception hedged on certain narratives mean little to me. I dont think the perception of Albanians a racist mind is very much different from any black or brown person.

To put succinctly, those who are claiming assylum in Ireland have not commited a crime. Let the Irish justice system deal with the claims and decide what's mertiable or not. Also, what they are doing is of little business to me.
P.s this is not advocating folks to claim or not claim asylum.

"Ukrainian are being slaughtered like cows"
You are implying that it is the fault of Zelensky that his people are being slaughtered by Russia. He should just give Russia whatever they want OR .......... GET SLAUGHTERED.
Let me even ask you, what does Russia want?

Well, I hope you also have this view on Israel Palestine issue cos this also apply. You have to be consistent
In your own logic, Palestinians leaders are at fault. Release Isreal hostages OR .........

Since you absorb Russia of all responsibilities of Ukrainian deaths and destruction, you should also do same for Isreal.

Lol @ your disclaimer. Be careful you don't get splinters from sitting on the fence.

1. I hope you know that the UK has recently passed a migration bill that effectively aims to invalidate asylum applications made through illegal crossings.

Coming through a safe country may not be automatic grounds for refusal, however you don't think it would raise serious eyebrows if hundreds or more of these asylum claimants happen to be recent UK student visa holders from Nigeria who showed strong POFs to obtain their visas, strong educational/professional backgrounds and strong links to their home country; some would have declared to the visa officer that they planned to return home after studying. And now all of a sudden, they require international protection from that same home that has not descended into war or genocide or military/ religious persecution? Do you know that there are growing protests in Ireland against asylum seekers, putting pressure on the government to act? How did the similar US-Canada land crossings pan out?

2. Many times on here, boat crossers have been labelled illegal immigrants (which technically they are) and comments in support of tougher government action against them. I'm not sure I've seen a sympathetic comment about asylum seekers, even from you.

3. Albanians having a poor image is more to do with the high levels of crime they are associated with. Not everything is racism.

4. Those seeking asylum in Ireland haven't commited a crime, they are free to do so.

However, "my people perish for lack of wisdom/knowledge "...there is nothing wrong with giving advice, even if it's not what people want to hear, or calling out the pitfalls of a certain course of action. You'd be the first one to cry racism if these people are refused and their immigration journeys become 10x more difficult,(never mind the reputational damage that could affect genuine Nigerian asylum seekers ), and yet you refuse to acknowledge simple facts that could help people make better informed decisions because afterall "it's of little business to you"...

You mean surrender (Putin isn't interested in a truce) and allow your country to be taken over...

It's not that black and white though is it?

What happens if Russia decides tomorrow to invade Poland and then sets its sights on Western Europe? You really think Putin wants to stop at Ukraine?

Agreed, for a former comedian without a political or military background , Zelensky has shown incredible courage and grit. Many other leaders would be "directing operations " from their safe house in the US or somewhere. Their men are also very brave - many chose to stay or return to fight for their homeland.

My brother, remove bias and analyze this issue.
Can you tell me what exactly Ukraine did to Russia that should justify killing Ukrainans and taking their territory?

Ukraine intends to join NATO - Ok, does that justify it? Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania all border Russia and has been in NATO since 2004, have they been threat to Russia since then? Has NATO ever attacked Russia from their territory? Finland and Sweden has joined, will they attack Russia? Do you honestly think that Russia with the world largest Nukes will be attacked by NATO for any reason? Tell yourself the truth. So Ukraine joining NATO does not shake Russia in any way but only prevents Putin from bullying Ukraine.

Pro Russian government Ukrainian president was forced out of power in 2011 or so - Ok. I get it but does it warrant this death and destruction? In Belarus, the same power play happened with the west supported opposition and pro Russian Belarus president and the Belarus president won that struggle while opposition fled on exile, did the west declare war on Belarus because of it or annex it territory? So why is Russia willing to waste Ukraine cos of that, does it make sense?

Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, Ukraine did not fight back. They sponsored separatist to annex parts of eastern Ukraine yet Ukraine took the loss. They still went ahead to invade and destroy Ukraine. What exactly do they want from Ukraine? Become their ally? Do you win friends by force?
Please tell me exactly what Ukraine did to Russia that warrants these deaths and destruction from Russia.

I totally agree with everything you have said so far on this Russia-Ukraine conflict. I can never side with the hypocritical west on this conflict. As you have already said, Ukraine is historically and strategically relevant to Russia.. people tend to look at Russia as the bad guys, yet Russia has not been at the forefront of crimes against humanity like the USA has done in the last 30 years, esp in Africa and the middle East.

Aside this conflict in Ukraine which has strong historical ties to Russia, which global wahala Russia don start in the last 30 years?

USA - Libya, Sudan, Iraq are very very recent and well documented, but somehow they are still the good guys and Russia na the bad guy.
