I've been bothered by something lately. I'm 27 years old and studying at university. I've noticed that my classmates disrespect me by addressing me by my name, despite the fact that I'm significantly older than them—probably about 5 to 6 years older. It's really bothering me, and I'm not happy about it. Imagine someone I'm six years older than calling me by my name. Should I just distance myself from them since I'm uncomfortable with the way they treat me as if we were the same age? Or what'd suggest I do ?

Just calm down. If you must do anything about it, you can take up a nickname that way the sound of your name from your classmates won't hurt you.

I get now, however don’t expect your course mates to call you egbon or uncle, you are in a higher institution and you are not paying their school fees.
After I graduated from the university, I went to Law School in Kano, I had 5 roommates, i was older than 2 roommates with 6 years but you wouldn’t know because I was so cool with them and vice versa.
Just be respectful and you will be respected.
