walk into any bank branch and tell them you wanna buy TBills.

When you walk in and ask for tbills, they automatically channel you towards the secondary market.

But I understand that some banks can bid for you directly at the primary market which offers a higher interest rate, however there's a minimum amount you must invest. I learnt Access is 50m, FBN is 1m, etc

I need more clarification on this.

Minimum is usually 50/100k if the bank is bidding for you.

Chiefs pls I’m simple term, someone should explain discount rate and yield for me. What’s the difference
Discount rate is rate that applies when you decide to take interest upfront. Yield applies when you go for interest backend/maturity.

Please what is the tenor for the money market

Please what is the tenor for the money market

Money market fund tenor is determined by the investor.
Unlike Tbills or Bonds that are tenor-based, MMF is not such that your investment is as long as you want it to remain. It can be as short as 30 days or as long as you wish. Some investors use MMF as an emergency fund, personal pension, target savings etc.

MMF has easy entry and exit. You can start it at any time and also withdraw your money at any time.

I need clarity on the interest rate for all of the above, is it monthly or yearly?

All stated rates for govt regulated investments like Mutual funds are per annum (yearly),
but for MMF, it's prorated daily such that your interest accrued daily and will either be reinvested to your capital at the end of the month/quarter or it's paid to your bank account depending on what you opt for at the point of registration.

Good day sir,

I see you now promote stanbic mutual funds.

I have an issue. I created an account some days back and funded it (as the welcome email said I have to fund the account to be sent my login details.)

I have been trying to login since then all to no avail. Once I input the OTP they send me, I get the error message in the screenshot below.

I have sent them an email several times, no reply.

This is frustrating. Do you know anyone within the company I can talk to?

Sorry my Oga for the wahala. After payment did you receive an email from them giving you a password that you are made to change at your first login? If yes then you will need to call customer care. If not then you need to wait for the mail to be sent to you. See the attached for the new customer care number. Let your e-account number be handy before you call in case you are asked.

Yes, I was sent that password. I then signed in with the password. And upon sign in, they sent me an OTP to my phone. But when I enter the OTP, I get the error message shown.

Boss, for mutual funds account,

can two parties have access to it? like granting another person access through mandate form like in normal account?

Need a situation someone can manage or be able to withdraw it (either party can sign)

Yes, what you wish to do is possible. it means you will do a joint account. One of the documents you will sign is the signature mandate which you can structure based on what you want to achieve.

Yeah.

Just need to grant another party right to the account in case of emergency funds needs. Full right with no restrictions whatsoever but want the account name and details to be under me

If the account already exists, Then you will need to call customer care and tell them your intention that you wish to convert an individual account to a joint account. If it's a fresh account chat me up or send a PM so that I can get the form across to you.

A proof or certificate is issued after the auction. That's if your bid or the bank's bid is successful. Just applying does not mean the purchase has been made. So you will have to wait till you see alert or like Friday or next week Monday and confirm if it when through before you request for proof.

Depending on the bank you may receive a debit alert as soon as you place the bill like first bank that takes shields the money from your reach once you apply or like like Stanbic that will only debit you after the bid is successful.
