Arsenal’s Omotara Junaid draws attention of Nigeria’s Football Federation Arsenal’s Omotara Junaid is making waves, attracting attention from the Nigeria Football Federation. Discover her journey from Arsenal U16s to a possible international career. Omotara Junaid, a promising talent from Arsenal Women U16s, is being tracked by the Nigeria Football Federation. Junaid, having thrived at Arsenal, has the potential to represent three nations – Nigeria, England, and the United States. Despite representing the Young Lionesses in non-binding matches, Junaid could opt for Nigeria if offered the opportunity. In the world of football, there’s always a search for the next big thing. For the Nigeria Football Federation, it seems their eyes have landed on Omotara Junaid, the rising star of Arsenal‘s Women U16s. Born in the United States to Nigerian parents, Omotara spent a part of her childhood in Nigeria before moving to England. This journey means that she’s eligible to represent three nations on the international stage: Nigeria, the United States, and England. Although the English Football Association have already claimed Omotara’s services, owing to her appearances in a binding games for the Young Lionesses, it is believed she harbours a fondness for Nigeria. If given the chance, she would likely opt for the Super Falcons in the future according to AllNigeriaSoccer.com. At Arsenal, Junaid has proven herself an indispensable part of the squad. As the club’s second-highest goalscorer in the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway League, she was a significant contributor to the U16s’ Invincible season and league title victory. Having found the net nine times, Junaid’s prowess as a box-to-box midfielder is apparent. Arsenal’s youth team coaches have tried her out as a right-back, but ultimately believe her talents are best utilised in a number 8 role. They describe Junaid as a versatile player, comfortable on the ball, unafraid to tackle, and possessing a commendable physique for her age. As a winger, she is also adept at unsettling the opposition with her dynamism and flair. Football prowess, it seems, runs in the family. Her older brother, Tolu, was very close to being selected for the Golden Eaglets squad for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Algeria. Despite a series of impressive performances in friendly matches, he was unfortunately dropped from the squad. With her impressive performance at Arsenal and the Nigeria Football Federation’s interest, Omotara Junaid seems poised for an exciting career trajectory. Only time will tell if this young talent chooses to represent the Super Falcons, making a significant leap in her blossoming football career. 4 Likes

Convinient excuse, on your part. Watched her play more times than you can possibly imagine. From her stints in Belarus to Poland to the Russian league, as well as her cameo at the nations cup. Been there, done that. Still does not change my opinion about her - not good enough. Its easy to come across as a super star when playing against sub standard opposition in a less than optimal league. mostob: |

I think have found a New Favorite Youngster to Support Henceforth…! England U17 International Lola Brown, who plays for Chelsea Academy! This Girl literally reminded me of Megan Rapinoe, she looks like her, run like her, plays mostly on the left flank, Crosses the ball like her, good at set pieces… Like everything about her reminds me of Megan Rapinoe!! 1 Like

That's assuming she ups her game and performs at the level that warrants her being looked at in those leagues. The problem with you folks is once someone is not as gong-hoo about a player you keep trying to sell as good, you accuse the person of 'not liking' her. Fact: I don't give two hoots about any player. All I care about is if that person is good enough for our Super Falcons and who will enhance the team. That's all I care about. Case in point: 1. Roosa Ariyo - was banging goals in left and right but showed up at the Summer Challenge in Houston and was a complete bust. Never played for Nigeria since because she is not good enough! 2. Chinwendu Ihezuo - played in the Turkish Cup and in the Mexico series (pre-WWC) and was poor. Dropped from the team but was called by Randy to fill roster due to injuries in the Olympic Qualifiers against SA. Played her socks off and deserves to be on the squad. 3. Chidinma Okeke - Watched her play in US Summer series and was totally unimpressed. After a very long hiatus from team, she was invited to play in the Olympic qualifier against SA. Had a barnstorm of a game over the 2 legs. Solid performance and my WoM. She deserves a shot at the Olympic team. 4. Glory Ogbonna - Also watched her play in US Summer series and was hugely disappointed. Received a lot of flack about not liking her when it was obvious she wasn't good enough. She has been absent from the team for a long while now and has been playing in the substandard Turkish league, not being able to perform at more credible leagues. I can go on and on... Again, this is not personal! Its about who is good enough to make a positive impact and clearly, this lady is not. So please, quit trying to sell us a bill of goods! Deltamani: |

AkinDS:You have been against the lady way before AWCON. It is really ok if you don't like her but outrightly saying she is not good enough despite the fact that the last time you watched her was years ago is quite laughable. Maybe I she moved to the US, she will be good enough. |

Flamingos off to Bamako, Mali for FIFA U17 WWC qualifiers against Burkina Faso. Nigeria’s U17 girls, Flamingos will have the advantage of playing their away match against their Burkinabe counterparts in a 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture on a neutral ground, with FIFA having insisted that the Burkinabes cannot play in Ouagadougou as their home venue is not up to standard. 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: Houston Dash plays 3CB’s at the back in a 3-5-2 formation with Ordonez their focal point upfront. Alozie have played as the 2nd striker in all the games she has played this season, I think she will do well from the Right Wing Back Position which will give her more room to travel to & fro on the flank! Unlike while she was playing in the midfield as a double striker upfront but do drift to the flank occasionally. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: The Right WingBack position will also help her game going to the Olympics as she will be more than ready for it. If Alozie can Play the Right Back position at the World Cup well, I wonder why some of the fans are still clamoring to see her as a forward/Right Winger in the SuperFalcon when they know too well that she will have a tougher competition from Ajibade, Kanu and co on the Flank. USA Crystal Dunn is one player i like so much, as she can play as a Left Back, Winger and a Center Forward, at the U20 level she was even a Center Back.. US Coaches from the Youth Level to senior level really did utilized her Athleticism very well. Those Complaining about Alozie Playing as a Defender should stop and allow her play as a Right Back, Wing Back, Winger and Forward, it’s all to her advantage as she won’t struggle much to get a spot in her Club or the National Team starting 11. 2 Likes |

You seem to have a penchant for misrepresenting the truth. Please show me evidence that I stated that in my previous posts when she first came to light. Its obvious you don't read responses before posting, because I never stated that the last time I saw her play was 'years ago'. This clearly is a figment of your imagination! Get your facts in order, please! This is becoming embarrassing for someone like you. mostob: |
