I hope those drooling over Putin here realize the plant isn't for free. The Malians would be paying serious money for it. I have a feeling a Chinese company would have been cheaper and bigger.

The company am working for here in Ogun state is building there own solar power station with 800 million naira, part of the contract is that the company that will build it, will maintain the project for 10 years also the money will be divided into installmental payment yearly.... after 10 years the company can now leave

Here's Russia 4-5 years after building the solar system in that Africa

He slammed Greta and WEF for asking Africa to abandon fossil fuels for energy generation and embrace renewable when Africa emits a very small amount of pollution, meanwhile neither America nor Europe depends on renewables as the therma, coal and nuclear plants are still running, they invade countries if you threaten oil supplies and no country depends on renewable energy for industrialization, solar plant is a quick fix for a country like Mali that faces acute shortage.
Russia is planning to build nuclear power in Mali in the near future also

hahaha .Good I happened to have had my secondary education in that same Ajaokuta, my Dad work and retired in the same steel company you spoke about , and Ajaokuta is just 45min drive from my town.
The west were still behind the non completion of the project after seeing to the USSR balkanization.My Dad was among hardworking Nigerians that went to USSR for about a yr in 1985 to learn about part of the production process.
I know much Abt happenings there and how the western world sabotage the project.
