The Story: My Mother is in Love with my Fiancé

I am 25 years old and still live with my parents. I wouldn't describe their marriage as ideal. My father constantly accuses my mother of having extramarital affairs, and, to be honest, he isn't entirely wrong. My mother has a preference for dating younger men, and more than once, my father has sent away young men who show up at our home pretending to seek employment as drivers. Since I spent most of my life in boarding school from JSS1, / don't know my mother as well as I'd like, apart from what I see during the holidays and hear from my younger siblings.

All I know is that she is fashionable, beautiful, and a socialite. My father, on the other hand, is more family-oriented, while my mother rarely cares about us. We've come to accept her as she is, and whenever I'm home, I tell my father not to worry too much about her behaviour. After 26 years together, he's used to it. My father is the one holding the marriage together-my mother doesn't seem to care.

Although I've long known about my mother's weakness for young, virile men, I never imagined she would be capable of sleeping with my boyfriend. About three months ago, I brought my fiancé home to meet my parents. After finishing school before me, he travelled to England to further his studies and returned four months ago to propose. Since his family knew me well, I wanted my parents to meet him and support our plans to spend our lives together.

Three weeks later, his parents came for the formal introduction, and we began planning the wedding, set for December 18. During this period, I unexpectedly saw my mother and fiancé leaving a hotel together, where she casually pecked him on the lips before driving off. My fiancé confessed everything when I confronted him, claiming he doesn't understand how he ended up in that situation. He says my mother had invited him to discuss wedding plans...
