So i had to create this thread after doing some research and also from my own personal experience relating with females below the age of 18 who this part of the country refer to as "underage" or "below the age of consent" and also from countless rape victim threads littered on this forum the latest being this one.

From the comments on that thread, the hypocrisy of the commenters most especially that of the self righteous females are soo glaring that even the blind could see.

First things first, why does the law against the issue of Statutory Rape and age of consent cease to apply to the Northern and Muslim majority of this country? Just a few clicks on the Internet and on this same Nairaland is public wedding photos of Nothern Muslim marriages to girls as young as 10 to men as old as 70 and yet the security agencies don't bat an eyelid.

If it's due to fact that Islam or Sharia law permits it, then why does it not apply to other religions ( I'm speaking about Christianity as I'm a Christian) the Bible never gave an age of consent but made it clear that as long as a woman has reached the age of puberty, she is due for marriage regardless of her age. (1Corinthians 7:36)

Also, why is there not a Global age of consent? if not , why is that? who made the laws ? and why must i obey it against what my God says?

For a fact, we are all humans and a 13 year old girl in Abakaliki is also a 13 year old girl in Japan with the same biological function but still the age of consent in Japan is 13 years old and 18 here in South East Nigeria so why the disparity?

Thirdly, from my personal experience I have met some "underage" girls that lied about their age only to discover the truth after we have gone under the sheets but still those with similar cases end up in Jails most especially in the West. Why is that so?

Even in the USA, legal age in states differ, some states it is 16, some states it is 17.

Even marrying underage is not illegal in some US states as long as there is parental consent.

Don't mind Southern Nigerians, copying and pasting everything from the West, without going through the same lessons and experiences the West went through.

I'm really happy some people are experiencing a sense of awakening and are able to filter obvious lies. All hope is not lost after all.

Nobody marry a 10year old girl here in the north bro. I know they marry 14year old to above but I hv never seen 10 year old girl getting married. Even the 14year girl marriages are very rare.

how sure are u that the picture is real? Even if its true its very rare and that girl is more than 10. As for the other part of the country its their choice

Lol well i won't argue with you on that, i just want people to see the bigger picture and human hypocrisy. Soo many people are languishing in jail in the name of Statutory Rape even with consent and it's not a one size fits all rule.
