There's one rugged pastor I know who resides in my neighborhood. His case is quite different; he seduces women by wearing revealing clothes that accentuate his physique. The pastor would wear only shorts to the public tap where women fetch water.

You must be a lustful human being to even contemplate compromising your pastoral work to want to sleep with not just a lady that comes to you for counselling,but a married one at that.
Be deceiving yourself that you are being tempted when it's the lust in you that's driving you.

Pastor or no pastor,.... people should endeavour to stay distance from opposite sex who is not husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend.

Two people who are still sexual active and who aren't blood related, cannot come closer without sexual emotion spring out.

More reason you shouldn't take anyone who insist on opposite bestie serious.

It is not only a pastor thing per se.

Whenever a male is counseling a female facing a relationship crisis, there's bound to be temptations, Women are like that,too emotionally charged.

Within the twinkle of an eye,if you're not disciplined,a woman can destroy all what you have worked for, that's why some people call them the devils advocate.

All women are quilty of this, for you to escape from their temptations, you have to set boundaries

This woman now, she would never tell you, what's she is doing that making husband angry and treating her badly, she would play victim all through,...... your husband asked you not to go to evening church programme, you disobeyed him, yet claiming innocent, ....to make it worse now, OP will never tell her she erred, by disobeying her husband .

But this issue of temptation during counseling is a human thing, I don't know why u make it a Nigerian pastor thing. So you don't think such scandals are rife in Western world or what do you mean.

Wolves in sheep clothing. This is one of the reasons I don't give pastors access to my family. Most of them take advantage of cracks in homes to perpetuate evils under the guise of being tempted.

Don't know what your story is....you are not a counsellor from what you said...so why are you counselling an unmarried woman....are you even married yourself to be counselling a single mother alone.

Safeguarding acts are designed to prevent story that touch either deliberately or lied against.

If a woman has issues make sure there is another woman in the room to hear the story...preferably your wife. Don't ever be in a room alone with a woman who is not your wife while she's sharing her deepest emotional pain. If your hug her in that situation it can be rightfully called taking advantage of a vulnerable woman.

You don't need to crash, you need to avoid counseling people of the opposite gender in private. You delegate it to same gender or do it with your wife physically involved or others in open space. Don't give them your number for follow up. You are not the saviour of the world. Even established pastors like Kumuyi and Adeboye don't play with fire.

Never you dare counsel a woman/lady in that situation alone. Let your wife or one or two brethren be present; otherwise, you too are looking for temptation to test your ability to resist, which is very dangerous.
