I understand you but my post is specifically for the "evening newspaper term". I created it in response to this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/8446166/ladies-aged-30-38-years-how. I already struggled to make this topic short. Yes. These categories of women exist. Maybe I would create a topic for that another time but I do not have enough experience to talk about it. Maybe some introspection would give me some new insights. Thank you for your contribution.

Matured response, now I appreciate your post. 30 is not the end of the world!

So why are you not committing to promoting the better option of the two main parties to deliver a job creating economy based on comparative results of both sides in government for the past 26 years huh

This worsened after Buhari became the president. I am just surprised the term was used in 2006.
Actually, and I am not defending buhari, the problem has always been there.

Nigeria has never been an economy that exports manufactured goods and services. This means that job creation has always been problematic.

The play ' the incorruptible judge ' by D.O.Olagoke which was set in the 1960s has

1. Youth struggling for jobs
2. Bribery for jobs.

Still a problem today.

At the end, we need to use our raw materials to make things the world needs otherwise we are always going to be having job issues.

None of our leaders have done that. What happened under buhari was a replay of the oil shock of 1982-2005/6. That's another discussion, but buhari did not do what he was supposed to do.

Tinubu is doing the same mistakes.

OP, do whatever works for you and makes you happy.

Life is not meant to please someone else, except God. Generalisations should also be treated with a pinch of salt.

We're free to live whichever way we choose. But we should also be ready to accept whatever consequences come from our actions and inactions down the line. Just thinking aloud. smiley

Where did you source the information that there are more women than men both in Nigeria and across the world?
so it seems but data on the Internet says otherwise

You sound very learned, smart, articulate decisive and bold that's a very big turn on for me really wish I could meet you in person

This one is for the babes who are starting to question their worth because of what they see online. I turn 30 next Sunday, so I believe I’m in a good place to write this, not from a place of fear, but from experience and sense.

Over the last few months, I’ve seen some wild comments from men on Nairaland. Things like “after 7”, “evening newspaper”, “depleted ovaries”… you name it. But let me tell you: that’s not on you. That’s on them.

If you're feeling down because of these words, pause and breathe. grin grin. These men; the ones who use these terms. I’ve studied them. Yes, I went through their old posts. The youngest among them is about 43. 😂 Imagine a 43-year-old man online calling women expired. God forbid my own future husband is wasting his time typing such rubbish on a forum.
One even replied me once saying I should "rest". This is someone struggling to pay N150k school fees for his 8-year-old child and rent somewhere in the bush in Ikorodu. 😭 Another one, sleeping in the office Monday to Friday because transport to Ajah will eat his entire salary. We already had our third degree by 23 but one man from Ogbomosho thinks he would be doing me a favour by marrying me. These same people shouting “in saner climes” but the only airport they have seen is from watching James Bond movies. 😭😭😭

And these are the same ones screaming "I can't marry a 25+ year old, they’re too old." At 40+? You’re not even ashamed. Ato ole.

Ladies, these are the ones calling you evening newspaper. Do you now see that it has nothing to do with you? If you’re here and you’re worried about these people, don’t be.
This message is not for the real men who respect women and are just struggling financially. My message for you is: it’ll be okay soon, amen.

Now for the rest of us baby girls 👸🏽:
There’s a flawed logic these same men like to push. This idea of "100 women to 1 man". It’s a lie. Statistically, there are more men than women in Nigeria and in the world. You can Google it. They just use that flawed stat to make women feel desperate.
Let me say this clearly girls: angry
If you are not earning your own money, you have no business dating.
Once you start making money, your standards go up naturally. That’s why you’ll see Regina Daniels with a Ned Nwoko, but you’ll never see Temi Otedola with Dangote. 😏
I saw a thread the other day. One Nairaland uncle asking for advice on dating an 18-year-old. By page 2, he had mentioned giving money to her mother.
So please, work. Even if it’s small. Take yourself on mini-vacations within Nigeria. Join clubs. Play sports. I play chess. In fact, there’s no antichess player in Africa better than me. Just recently, I came 3rd out of 2,500 players globally in the Antichess World Championship grin grin grin grin grin. 💅🏽
I’m also starting Pilates with my girls, and I’m going to take standard chess seriously again. I want to become Nigeria’s first grandmaster by age 37.
So please my girls:
1. Buy good skincare.
2. Learn how to do your makeup — Mac, Fenty, Lancôme… get at least one.
3. Look younger, stay fresh.
4. Don’t ever beg for transport fare to go on a date. 🙅🏽‍♀️

Don’t settle because some man with a “Akungba university 1984” ID is calling you names online. 😭
Look at Asa Asika. Look at Davido. Look at Toolz and Tunde. Real rich kids marry close in age because they’re not looking for desperation, they’re looking for a match.
Take your time. Don’t lower your crown. Someone will love you fully with money, respect, maturity, and peace of mind.
There’s someone for everyone. Just don’t rush because of what these agbado philosophers are saying on Nairaland grin grin grin. 😂
Remember:
When they say “You’re too old,” just remember, The only thing outdated is their mindset which expired after Jonathan’s first tenure. Stop explaining your standards to people who’ve never met them.
There’s a man for every woman and yours will see your worth without needing you to shrink or beg for it. cool cool cool
So to every woman reading this: You’re not behind.
Evening newspaper still has breaking news.
Bye baby girls

So we still have ladies who feel bad about the evening newspaper tag? H0w many black guys are good enough for marriage? Do single ladies listen to the billions of sad tales from married women? A good percentage of married woman are frustrated, very few are happy. If you can't find a husband that has the qualities you desire, then go ahead and have children (adopt) and live a single fulfilled life, it's far better than getting tied with a u$eless husband in the name of marriage.
A good number of married women are what? You mean after collecting bride price and ummunna...after not choosing the man they love but those financially ready even if it's an evil yahoo boy? Now you still want to blame men for your choices?

God will judge that your mouth

Getting old is a privilege and something to be thankful for.
Unmarried at 30 means you have survived 30 years on this planet. That life is something to grateful for. Many do not live long enough.
What's the matter with you shay?

Cuz you ain't ever this nice or not notoriously savage.

Sorry. I meant second degree but my cousin had her third degree by 22 and a friend started her PhD by 23. So, it is “possible”.We all come from different backgrounds.

Be very grateful for Seun’s low quality bot. I always have to be too careful when mentioning people. On a normal day, you don’t want to know.

So, based on this so called background, can you tell us what you are doing on a platform for both the rich and the poor? Maybe you should invest in Mark Zuckerberg to create a section specifically for you and your "background"

Lol. If that was what you got from my comment about ''background'', you can understand why it would be stressful engaging with you further.

Not also worth the stress of creating a snapshot for you. You will be fine. grin grin grin

If it’s impossible to you, that’s okay. I’m not stressing myself for you and the other guy. Not worth it.

If it’s impossible for someone to have a third degree by 23 and you live abroad, I would just assume you wanted to quote me for nothing.

Unfortunately for you there are things women enjoy in life which no man can enjoy. See how you are broke shaming men t the same time feeling bad you are been called evening newspaper what a double standard. Have you seen guys broke shaming women like women do?

A broke woman that has nothing in her mind she will meet a rich man , they avoid broke men in same manner men avoid women that has passed their sexual market value aka evening newspaper that's how life is unfortunately

A 40 man can afford to date between 18 to 24 and get married whether she has money or not because she is in her peak sexual market value can you even do that in at age 30 as a woman? No

There is no difference between women who broke shame men and men who age shame women, what is constant is shame. You are fine broke shaming men but angry when men age shame women what a double standard.

Excuse you. I have never been ashamed of my age. Never in this world. If a man thinks I’m too old for him, that’s fine. Everyone is allowed to have preference.

No one has told me I’m too old for them. If I am, they didn’t continue the conversation which is still fine.

I’m not those ladies you’re used too or you meet in your day to day life. I mean judging by your spoken grammar; you get my point.

I mentioned my age there. If I am ashamed of it, I will not. If I’m too old for some men, that’s okay. I’m not offended. If you know me in real life, you would understand why things like that would never offend me. For the broke shaming part, how can you be age shaming women and you’re nothing in life. I can’t see the reason behind that mentality and i see that with nairaland men which is fine. Oga.

If you didn’t understand this, ask ChatGPT to break it down for you.
