Please Help: Is My Wife Still Pregnant?. N5k Reward For The Best Response. by Flipmac(op): 1:55pm On Sep 10, 2025
My wife noticed that she was pregnant last week. She did a pregnancy test using a test strip. We estimate it to be less than a month old.

So we decided to abort the baby since we aren't ready for another child yet (we have a 1 year old right now).

She took pills to remove the pregnancy (Miso-Fem Misoprostol tablet) on Monday morning. She experienced a heavy period for a whole day and by the next day it stopped.

She decided to do a pregnancy test again this morning to confirm if it worked.

Unfortunately, the pregnancy still showed 2 lines (meaning it's positive), but the second line is faint.

My question is: is she still pregnant? If yes, what can we do to remove it safely? Is there a better medication to buy?.

Please help. I'll send a N5k reward to the best response.

the hormones that the strip tests for will still be in her system. give it about 2 weeks and test again.

Use the 5K to buy fuel and go see a doctor.

No specialist will give you accurate information of what’s playing out without observation and questions.

We talking about human life’s here and you coming online to get medical opinions.

Okay! Seems you want to fry akara.

Why do women treat their lives so cheaply all in for the sake of men? OP, call that woman and tell her to match herself to the nearest hospital immediately to ensure that the drug she took did not damage her innards. 😩😩😩

Why are women still so gullible in the year 2025? If it turns out she has incurred damage to her insides because of this nonsense, you, OP, would not think twice to blame her and abandon her for your next victim. undecided

It's obvious you're not married or have no family planning education because if you actually did you'd have realize that taking contraceptives is one of the methods of doing such.

Are you a male or female? 🤔 Because some are saying you're a transgender and from this your statement it makes me realize they might be right undecided

You obviously don't know what a contraceptive is or what it is in fact used for, do you? undecided

It's for pregnancy/birth control in families to practice child spacing techniques.

Why then do you blame the husband for giving his wife such medication?

Here is instead the meaning of the term.
con·tra·cep·tive
/ˌkäntrəˈseptiv/
1. (of a method or device) serving to prevent pregnancy.
2. (noun: contraceptive; plural noun: contraceptives) a device or drug serving to prevent pregnancy.

Okay. I agree it is to prevent pregnancies (let me not dig into pregnancy removal/abortion pills and their own dictionary definitions)

Why did you opine that the man was trying to destroy the health of his wife by letting her have those pills? Or isn't taking those type of pills a verified means of family planning?
Re: Please Help: Is My Wife Still Pregnant?. N5k Reward For The Best Response. by Mikespecialone(m): 5:31pm On Sep 10, 2025
I understand your concern. A faint line on a pregnancy test after attempting medical abortion can be confusing. Lemme break it down:

1. *Possible reasons for a faint line:The pregnancy might not have been fully terminated. Hormonal changes can cause lingering pregnancy hormones. The test might be detecting residual hCG (pregnancy hormone).

2. *Next steps:Consult a healthcare provider:Schedule an appointment with a doctor or OB-GYN for a follow-up. They can perform an ultrasound to confirm if the pregnancy was terminated.Further evaluation:* Your wife might need additional medication or a surgical procedure (D&C) if the pregnancy wasn't fully terminated.

3. *Safety considerations:Avoid self-medication:Don't take more pills without consulting a healthcare provider, as this can lead to complications.Potential risks:* Incomplete abortion can lead to infection, bleeding, or other complications.

4. *Support and resources:Reach out to a healthcare provider:They can provide guidance, support, and further

Do some reading up on the medication and how it is meant to be used to see why it is suggested that it be handled with the advice of medical staff? undecided

Good 👏 I noticed the word SUGGESTION in your post but moving on 🤗 . . .

Do you realize that even on basic paracetamol tablet packets that same sentence of following doctors advice and supervision is written/stated? 🤔 Heck even on Vitamin C tablets we will find such suggestions too 🧐

So why do you now say the man is trying to complicate his wife's health based on that single sentence that is basically written on literally all available medications in todays pharmaceutical markets knowing fully well that Nigerians mostly 'self medicate' in their homes?angry

Una get mind o. I wish I could send a vn

Well I'm having similar situation right now. I'm also not financially okay but my wife is pregnant again, whilst we have a year old boy.

We spoke of aborting it but I've been restless since morning. Omo, she later changed her mind. I can't kill my seed, no matter what it takes, we go born am and he go grow to a wonderful father one day. Amen.

You shouldn't have aborted, except you don't have a job or any source of income

The husband clearly stated the drug used was to terminate the growing life inside his wife. That's not birth control.

OP, you will be lucky if the foetus is not tampered with. Desist from abortion and let the baby live.

I can't understand how some youths of nowadays behave. Being educated in real life does not refer to your academic certificate but your application of that knowledge to solving life problems.

Why didn't this O.P. embrace family planning when he knew that he was not ready to have a second child. Instead he is playing LUDO with his mumu wife's health and future.

ABORTION and killing a human being attract the same credit load on judgment day. EWU!

OP I think you shouldn't put the name of the medication up there...

There really is no relevance to attach the name and picture to your post.

Your story is clear without it!

A faint positive line on a pregnancy test after using misoprostol does not necessarily confirm that the pregnancy is ongoing, but it also doesn’t guarantee that it has ended. Pregnancy tests detect the hormone hCG, which can remain in the body for days or even weeks after a miscarriage or abortion — sometimes giving a faint positive result even when the pregnancy tissue has been expelled.
However, since your wife only took misoprostol (and not mifepristone before it), there’s a chance the process was incomplete. Misoprostol alone can work, but its success rate is lower — especially at very early or very late gestational ages.
The safest next step is not to repeat the drug blindly but to get a proper medical evaluation: A pelvic ultrasound can confirm if there are still products of conception.A quantitative blood hCG test (rather than a home strip) can help monitor whether the hormone levels are dropping, which would show that the abortion is complete.
If she experiences persistent abdominal pain, fever, or abnormal bleeding, treat it as urgent and seek medical help immediately — those can be signs of incomplete abortion or infection.
You can keep your 5k. And it's best you visit the hospital ASAP!
