OgaTheTop2:They would have tried to frustrate him like they are trying to frustrate Tinubu today, na still an Igbo man Arthur Nzeribe who helped Babaginda to secure the injunction used in annulling the election. It was still an Igbo man Daniel Kanu that was the main promoter that Abacha must succeed himself. |

Pogba12:Thank God he didn't rule. He would have been worst than Buhari. Isn't this the same man that was buying bible in trailers to burn them in order to reduce the spread of Christianity? That's the man that would have been a just president? Why do do people think that because u didn't rule, you would have been a great president. What happened to buhari after all the hype |

richiemcgold:Guy 2020 hindsight is always perfect, What Ayaoku said in 2013, u knew about it in July 1998 that Abiola was told to renounce his mandate, even @ this time Obasanjo had not even been released from prison. That is why I asked u whether u were serving food during the meeting, when someone alleged that Susan Rice poisoned MKO’s tea? |

anonimi:Because the iconic Olufela Anikulapo-Kuti sang ITT in 1979 doesn't mean that Bashorun MKO Abiola stole money or was into extremely shady deals while at ITT. 'Fela in his usual self was just using sarcasm in that music so you have to get that very clear. 'Fela is known for using sarcasm and satire in his songs just like his direct first cousin on his maternal side, the iconic 1986 Nobel Laureate, Professor Oluwole Soyinka is known for conveying messages with satire |

donbenie:I have to step in to correct you here. Please don't distort Nigerian history which I witnessed in the 1970s through to the 1990s when these major Military Government events took place. Nearly every part of Nigeria (politicians and ethnic groups, etc) was in cahoots or related with the Military especially from the mid-1980s because Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida or IBB gave a very foxy or deceptive image that he and his goons meant well and planned to return Nigeria to full-blown democracy as of the early 1990s. A lot of very prominent professionals such as 'Fela Anikulapo-Kuti's older biological brother, Dr. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, Prof. Aliyu Babatunde Fafunwa, Prof. 'Bolaji Akinyemi, and more technocrats from around Nigeria were drafted into his Military government [which became corrupt with many of the Military boys becoming overnight multimillionaires] as Federal Ministers which he used to fool everyone and the international community. He ended up annulling that peaceful election of June 12, 1993 after billions of Nigeria's money had been spent on the Presidential elections. Now he is wheel chair-bound. This is why Military Governments CANNOT be trusted because they are largely NOT accountable to the citizens. The young people of Madagascar (and those of the 3 West African countries of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso are already witnessing the negative fallouts from the corrupt and dictatorial tendencies of the Military boys even though the illusions of eutopia would be painted originally). So, you CANNOT single out only the Yoruba folks as that would be totally disingenuous of you or anyone. Period. |
