The media has been awash with news of the current ordeal being passed through by Regina Daniels and her family in the hands of Senator Ned Nwoko and the tyrannical Nigerian police. Some people have mocked her and her family. People have used her passed comments to mock her and gloat over her present ordeal.

Even those you expect to speak up have all gone mute. This is typical of Nigerians that fail to think through issues before taking sides and then eventually getting burnt on the long run.

Let's assume she made mistakes in the past. Let's assume she actually said she preferred to cry in a Lamborghini. Let's assume she married Ned for his money. Are all these reasons enough to just turn a blind eye while Ned Nwoko and the Nigerian police humiliates her and her family What precedent are we setting by watching as such injustice is done to her

Everyday Nigerians cry about our failed judicial system and about the high-handedness of our political office holders, yet we encourage such failures and high-handedness when those we hate are at the receiving end! We cannot tackle any issues by being partial in our approach. Like the saying goes, those who seek equity must come with clean hands! Let us learn to condemn evil and injustice regardless whom the perpetrators or victims are! That's the only way we can holistically solve such issues and protect everyone both now and in the future from falling victims to such issues.

The Nigerian police must resist being used as puppets by those who want to oppress the less powerful. The current incarceration of Regina Daniel's siblings must be resisted by all those who want to see a better Nigeria where justice, equity, peace and progress reigns.
The Nigerian police must be prevailed upon to release the Daniels who have done no wrongs to Ned Nwoko other than protecting their own.

Let's stop encouraging injustice just because those we don't like are the victims! A word is enough for the wise! #EndOfRant

Instead of worrying about the elite, focus on the big men in your everyday life that oppress the less fortunate. Check yourself for oppressive behaviours. Help the women in your community that are oppressed by their husbands. Justice always starts from home.
