@ OP: It is preferable if you referenced the dude as "physically challenged person" than calling him a cripple. He may be a cripple, but his disability has not stopped him from performing that extraordinary stuff that some able bodied men cannot do. Your frame of reference is derogatory and demeaning. Everyone, including disabled persons deserve some humane respect.

Thank God it ended well. It would have been heartbreaking if the lady said No.

Hope the lady really knows what she is getting herself into and not just playing to the cameras? Until she officially settled down with him and live happily with him for at least 2yrs without hearing any stories of cheating on him I won't be wasting my commendations and praises on this good hearted and loyal corper yet.
