What Advice Do You Have For Me? by Goodadvice01(op): 7:28pm On Nov 29, 2025
Good evening everyone one. I'm 25 and the only son of my mum. I have tried every ways of making money online but nothing come out.

I'm currently a YouTuber but my videos are not getting the number of views to get me monitized. I'm very depressed. My mates are making money online and getting married early, but I'm still living with my mum.

I want to become financially stable and get married by 27 but things are not working in my favor.. and time is barely on my side.

Firstly, some days ago, my uncle swnt me some money and I bought form for evening program in federal poly.. he promised to see me through there because he's a lecturer in the school.

Secondly, Earlier this year, my mum's friend, her daughter in America told me to write jamb next year so if I pass she'll sponsor me in nursing school. (I'm not intelligent or even average.. I hate science courses because they give me tough time)

Thirdly, on my own, I also plan to write jamb next year and pursue an easier course like Agriculture in our state university.. I'll be sponsoring myself because my aunt in America said she won't sponsor me if I don't study a health related course.

To cut it short, all I need is advice from successful men and women who have made in life.. on this site... From the 3 options above, which should I choose, and what advice to have for me concerning making money online? 🙏🏼🙏🏼 😢

1. The worst thing you can ever do to yourself is try to judge your progress by what you imagine to be others' progress. (Most Nigerians you see out there will not tell you the truth of how depressed they are in their own lives because misery loves company, and yes, all that glitters is not gold.) Stop wondering or thinking about what others are doing or not doing, and focus on your here and now. Make whatever changes you need to make to your present self to get you to where you believe would be were you would like to be tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, etc. Plan your own life according to your own strengths and interests, not those of others. undecided

2. What I am getting from this is that at 25, you have yet to get yourself a college-level education. You already seem to have people interested in helping you get just that. So I suggest I focus your energy from this point forward on ensuring you enter into college next year and also graduate with top grades, so you set yourself high on eventually getting that dream of financial independence. undecided

You can begin the evening Polytechnic program now. (Aim to have that in addition to whatever else may come down the road.) At the same time, study for the Jamb exam next year. And when you finally pass your Jamb(and maybe also finish much of your polytechnic work too), you can do the nursing program or whatever you choose at that point. What is certain is that you would be better informed to make those decisions at that point than you seem able to now. So get to work. undecided

As for your plans to marry, there are so many married people today who are living in regret, wishing they had not rushed to marry or even that they had never married at all. Some of them even wish they had spent time building their lives better while they were single instead of rushing into marriage with no wealth of knowledge and experience to help them.

Marriage is not an achievement, and it is more of a burden for those who are in it than not. So, yes, it is OK to get married someday, but not before you make sure you are financially independent and know for a fact how to navigate life and living for yourself. undecided

@25, you are depressed, O ma se o!!
You can't be comparing your mate with you, that alone call for depression.
You said you want to write JAMB and get into school and sponsor yourself, what do you do for a living that bring you money.
Don't start the school you can't finish,at the end of the day you become a school dropout.
Oga just go learn trade, a trade that has future potentials.
That's the bitter truth.

What I don't understand is why someone who promised to sponsor your education is giving you condition. undecided

You must not be a nurse or in any of the medical fields before making it in life, do wetin your brain carry.

You also said you wanna get married at 27, oga who you wan impress? We all have different destinies, don't allow peer pressure put you in trouble. Be bold enough to tell the lady in America what you want, if she isn't ready to support you in whatever career you choose she should foork- off!

Because I dey hungry nor mean say any food wey person give me nai I go chop.

It is far better to be a school dropout, at least you can still claim the credits you already completed for when you want to go back again, than a complete school illiterate. I would know this since I happen to be one. With the little you learned from your time in school, you can go on to build on that on your own or even learn the rest for yourself. 🥱🥱🥱

2. No be trade the vast majority living in poverty today, go learn? Abeg, stop being wicked! Nothing replaces formal education, especially in this day and age. 🥱🥱🥱

You can combine all the options together by starting side hustle and then be getting support financially from your family members.

You should be lucky to have a supportive family like yours

You need to decide on what you want to do to earn a living. Period

You would only succeed when you put in the effort long term. You won't see much success if you're doing it to get paid now now. People throw in at least 4 years of learning to become professionals ( through university or remote learning) not 6 months and you want to start earning big bucks.

Don't start something you would drop halfway like you're about to waste all the time and effort into developing your YouTube channel because you want to look for quick money.

Your aunt wants nursing because that can be an avenue to japa to US but be certain it's what you can stick with or it would become just another certificate in your clear bag representing another 5 wasted years.

Making the choice can be difficult but whatever path you choose to follow, be prepared to stick to it for a long time.
