So it has gotten to my turn. The girl I intend to settle down with is about to go for NYSC.



She was so overjoyed when she told me. I'm happy for her, but you know na...



Several stories of how them dey chop people serious girlfriend for NYSC.



We've heard about the 3 weeks camp, how some are caught doing weeweechu and sent home.



Even if she doesn't do that the 3 weeks as a decent girl I know her to be, the remaining service months are there and even though she is decent I can't trust her to that extent.


Had it been we are married now I can influence it, work redeployment and camp exemption for her to be with me while receiving the monthly alawee.


But things are still open since I haven't done a single thing on her head.


Normally with the news I've been hearing about durtty stuff going on during NYSC I am conditioning my mind to expect the worst and remove my expectations. Yes, she's decent, but she's human and can fall for it.



I can vouch for her a bit but not completely because some girls might still be doing it behind you no matter how decent they appear or how serious the relationship is.



And I know fully well how painful it can be when you use your whole mind in a relationship and she breaks your heart, how painful it can be. So actually it would pain me if anything happens, but I have conditioned my mind not to allow the pain to get deep into me. I've lowered my expectations in the relationship, but my mind still dey.

If you both genuinely love each other and have good plans for yourselves, nothing will happen.

My girl survived by asking me to completely be a part of her daily activities in camp. It was easy to do because we were already that way before camp. So we were constantly talking about everything daily - texts, calls, videos, etc. We were even talking about all her toasters, even the ones constantly offering to buy her food, Lol.

This will only work sha if she likes to tell you everything and not secretive.
The key takeaway is that we were in love and besties. But shouldn’t that be a criteria for every relationship tho?
