Well, all it takes is a "female gender" to be a girlfriend. But it takes a whole lot more to be a "Wife".

Wanting to marry somebody is not about how long you've been together - it's about how much value the other person believes you can bring to their lives - it goes both ways.

Girls brush off guy's proposals after years too, even after heavy investments by the guy.

But if the compatibility is not there, it's not there. Better he was honest and say it as it is - maybe for the guy mind now, they've just been FWB.

Know your worth as a man or woman and you won't be treated like this if you communicate the value you bring.

Before I got married there was this Akwa-Ibom girl I had something with. I noticed her character and I told her I ain't ready for serious relationship. She said no problem that's she's ok with it, maybe she was hoping I would change my mind which never happened.......Few months later she saw me with another girl, ( now my wife) though she felt sad but she accepted her fate because I made it clear to her from day one she isn't my type.

Only a phoolish man sees danger and still embrace it with open arms. My schoolmate back then in the university left his girlfriend of three years only to marry another lady after graduation. When I asked him, his reply (among other things he said) "brother, that girl nor dey hear word. All my efforts to straighten her na zero for where she dey.." Then fast forward to few years later, I also left my girlfriend of how many years because of the similar reason of her being annoyingly stubborn; I go talk talk talk, for where, it enters through her right ear and escape from the left ear! Bedmatics zero as she's never in the mood. In fact, my experience with her and stories of men suffering in marriages for ignoring the red flag is the reason I came to a serious conclusion that I will never marry one woman, a woman's attitude become worse (instead of better) when she realizes that she's the only one you got..

Most times, a man stays patient (love is patient) with such a lady, hoping that one day she will change. A change that never comes into reality.

For those of you laying emphasis on "..wasted her time" So you expect me to go ahead in marrying such person because of what, time? So I wasted her time (even when she refused to change for good) but she didn't waste my own time too? Do you know the number of good girls I could/would have meant and get married to, were it not for her? Same way, a man and woman both enjoyed sex but the man is the one who took advantage of the woman. This is why most women weaponize sex (even in marriages today), funny people...
