This is a Nigerian problem. The thread about "no Nigerian can purchase a new car" got me thinking because where I am, no one forks out 6m or 10m+ yen to buy a new car. They opt for credit schemes. The belief that you must have all the money in the world before purchasing an item is majorly why most of our people get into criminal and nasty things just so they make all the money.

Newsflash: you can never make all the money. Even Dangote still dey find money, and he does so by partnerships and obtaining loans for productive activities.

Also, people should live within their means, and if they must make more money, they should know how to sell. Having the technical skills isn't just enough. How sellable are your skills? To what market audience? How far have you advertised your skills for the market to patronise you? What new things/innovations have you added that are worth patronising?

But the process of legitimately owning a land/property is another thing entirely.

Welcome to the world of women. I have experienced it too. The issue is that you want to make a lot of money so you can help everybody rather than for your personal benefit. In my world, I aim to make money for myself FIRST before trying to help the world. I am a strong advocate of young men making good money to benefit themselves FIRST before others. When you have attained personal satisfaction with your money, then you can decide to help others.

As for women, my rule has been simple: she has to spend on me. I cannot be the only spender. I don't see how a woman would have money yet not spend it on her man.

Again, I perfectly understand you as I have been partly there (aside from the drug aspect), even right from undergrad. First time I went to a club, I told myself "this is nonsense. way too much noise". But you have to decide that change is inevitable, and this involves going out, starting with the gym, parks (Abuja has an abundance of such), meetings/symposiums, social clubs (I recommend Kayhikers, and if you are into running, check out Abuja Running Club), etc. Start with one, then build gradually. Try out new things/activities and places. Living in a city like Abuja and not having a reliable male companion is a bad trait on you, not the city or its male residents. You have to put yourself out.

Basically, you have to ask yourself hard questions and come up with answers. Analyse yourself and write out the pros and cons of who you are, your behaviour, why you do what you do and the need for change.

Another thing too, you have to begin to love yourself, as no one will love you better or first other than yourself. So earn well, eat well, exercise well, meditate well, dress well, spoil yourself etc.

Do well to minimise the drug consumption and later end it. Replace them with fruits or, at best, alcoholic wine. Develop new hobbies or things that interest you. Attend weddings. Take periodic breaks from social media (including Nairaland) or reduce excessive consumption of some media content. Learn to understand that people are different, so those who you taught surpassing you does not mean you are a failure. If you like their current trajectory, nothing stops you from asking them, "bros, how you take do am? Abeg teach me" There is nothing wrong or amiss or shameful in learning from people who might be "lower in societal status" than yourself. Be willing to learn as long as the person, regardless of tribe, religion or whatever, has something valuable to teach you.

You are thinking and over-stressing yourself too much and i think you are suffering from Type-1 Depression.
