It's like the OP wants to paint himself a Saint here but has not told us what he did for someone to harass him like this. You’re talking like you don’t know police will extort you and the process will be longer. It might even become futile because they’ll need fuel, money to open case etc. I’ve never had a police case before that’s why I’m asking how much will it cost.

Seems you’re also a bully or don’t know bullies can act even when you avoid them. I’ve told him to steer clear of and if it was WhatsApp I’d have sent you the voice notes and recordings but he keeps approaching.

Yes he started stealing money in the organization because he thought he’s properties are going missing and I warned him to not try it but he went on and they were trying to frame me up so I had to tell my boss the truth but before then, he had dirty lifestyle and I didn’t want to associate with me because “birds of a feather flocks together” so I told him to avoid me but he doesn’t want to listen. If I hadn’t exposed him, they’ll be thinking I stole the money they’re looking for.

Resign from that place of work. If only resignation ends the problem, resign and take no further action. If he continues because he is a bad boy and has bad friends, get the police involved. But I'm telling you, don't take this with kids glove, it is a serious matter already. Take action, and the action you should take is what I have already told you.

If you have reported to the Human resources Manager and there seems to be little changes, report to the next hierarchic ladder and if there seems to be no solution , enter an entry at the police station.
Avoid all means to be confrontational with him, not because you are a coward but just avoiding a scenario where it would truncate your career.

At one point, I even thought about using a weapon just to protect myself if he lunges again, but I know how Nigerian law can be. I don't want to face a criminal case over a nuisance.
