So when I supporteed cost reflective tarrifs under pdp, was I am apc supporter then?

Well, does that mean that if you support those who don't support tinubu, that means that you will be supporting the setting of prices by government at all levels?

Is that a sane economic policy, that government should set the prices for businesses?

Good afternoon, comrade Lysenko

Tinubu and his incompetent minister of darkness have destroyed Nigeria with epileptic power supply. The worst since 1999. Even Buhari administration was not this bad.

Tinubu is a monumental failure

Now we all know that it was a huge error to have ever privatized power to those private buccaneers and scavengers.

If all the billions that have been invested in power generation all this year's was used to upgrade and expand NEPA, things would have been much better.
The truth is,the Power sector is dead.
Even the President residence Aso Rock have withdrawn from your national grid.
Aso Rock have lost hope in the power generation and distribution.

A country a president has gone off grid,
A country a leader doesn't care about the power sector but cares about election,
The solar tinubu installed in aso rock was from our hard earned sweat tax and vat,
He is obviously using his Lagos tactics of building roads and syphoning money, ignoring the power sector,
I dey boil like this cos their light damaged my ac compressor, I dey find money to buy another,
The annoying part is nepa officials are paid salary for doing nothing,

If you were running a private company selling bread that costs you 1000 naira per loaf and government says you should sell it at 300 naira and doesn't pay you enough to cover your losses, how would you run your business?

Even if government tells you to charge full prices for 20% of your consumers it won't offset the losses you are making on the rest

That's why our power sector is bad

And the scary thing is, we need trillions of naira to set things right. Not billions

Well, there is still the fact that a cost reflective tarrif isn't being paid though.

Also.we need something like 10- 15 trillion naira in new investments in the sector. No one will come in when most consumers are not paying a cost reflective tarrifs.

Simple economics.

But most of you want price controls which we have tried and are still doing under thiefninu.

Good afternoon, comrade Leonov
Go away with this your cost reflective rubbish. Tell us what is cost reflective in a corrupt cesspit like the one we living in?

No matter who is in charge, the way forward is cost reflective tarrifs.

Whether it pains you or not is irrelevant. Whether it makes you think I am supporting the useless apc is irrelevant. At the end, business must make a profit

Your response is clear that you are lost in Nigeria.
What was the last budget on power in the last 5 year's?
Just shut up if you don't know what to say.
Go and find out how much billion's the Government have budgeted on Power since 2015.
Go to the Budget portal and read it.
Don't come here and talk nonsense.

If you cannot come to terms with the Government why not back out instead of fail the consumers?

Go and check how much the government have invested on power since the last 8 years and see if is not over trillions.

Go to the Nigeria budget portal and see the budget for power alone in the last 7 years.

Well, the major issue is still cost reflective tarrifs.

The harsh truth is government investments over the years haven't reached up to ten trillion naira. Meanwhile the experts say we need ten trillion to fifteen trillion naira annually over at least 5 years...to get to 24 hours supply for those on the grid right now. Extending that to everyone in the nation means more money

And that can come from increased investment, which is not possible without cost reflective tarrifs. It's effing painful, but it is what it is.

GSM grew into the behemoth it is because the obasanjo government let them charge cost reflective tarrifs.

If we have spent that 10 trillion naira on NEPA, we will not be where we are now in power failure.
What kind of DISCO's, that will use their consumer's to buy and fix their own faulty Transformers and will still come back and collect monthly light bills for transformers they never bought or fixed for them
Nigerians are being robbed in a broad daylight by the DISCO'S and GENCOS.

IN ALL, NEPA HAVE PERFORM FAR BETTER THAN THEM.
THEY SHOULD GO.

The kind of discos that

1.Until recently were not allowed to charge cost reflective tarrifs(and were only allowed to do so for 20% of their consumers), meaning that they ran up massive losses annually, and government subsides were not enough...meaning they had to take loans, and in some instances, withdraw from the business altogehter

2. Work in an environment where power theft is massive

3. Above adds up to poor profit , and by extension loss of ability to replace and buy transformers and poles

4.As a result of discos not making bank, gencos owe gas companies a lot of money. Even the government attempt to pay the money only covered what the government owed per subsides. It doesn;t cover the whole debt. That's a part of why we have blackouts....gas companies periodically refusing to supply gencos with gas.

IN ALL, NEPA HAVE PERFORM FAR BETTER THAN THEM.
THEY SHOULD GO.
NEPA was worse. Much worse.
