She Came, She Offered, We Panicked: True Story From The UK by uche87(op): 6:53pm On Jun 18
The story of the Nigerian guy, Qudus Ajeyemi (aka “Spartan”), who was jailed for over 5 years in the United Kingdom, reminded me of something that happened to me during my early days in the UK in 2022.

A few months after I arrived, my workplace organised a team bonding session at a bar in the city. I was actually excited because I felt it would help with integration. I dressed up nicely, and a Pakistani female colleague gave me a lift to the venue. That journey alone had its own drama, but that’s a story for another day. Let’s just say I learned a lesson about speaking carelessly.

Anyway, the event itself started on a cool note: snacks, soft drinks, and small talk. It was interesting seeing colleagues in a different light. People who normally hardly talked at work suddenly became very friendly. Some who were usually well-covered showed up in more relaxed summer outfits.

We played games, did karaoke, and generally had a good time. Then one of our Oyinbo colleagues came in already tipsy, holding a drink and sipping it steadily. Everything was funny to her; whether you said something or not, she would just laugh. At some point, she was even staggering, so we knew she had taken too much. We tried to advise her to slow down, but she didn’t really listen. Personally, I don’t drink. I’ve tried alcohol before, but it’s not for me. I still believe it’s too bitter. I prefer sweets, chocolates, milkshakes, and fizzy drinks. So my head was very clear throughout that night.

Things then took a very surprising turn.

The lady started pulling some of the Nigerian guys aside to talk to them privately. What she was asking for shocked everyone. She openly told one of my friends who is married with two kids that she wanted to have sex with him right there. She even gave him her number and told him they could go anywhere; his place, her place, or another location. To prove she wasn’t joking, she made a very bold offer on the spot. She wanted to 'test the microphone.'

My friend was tempted; after all, he had never been with an Oyinbo before. But he knew the situation wasn’t right.

When he came to tell me, I honestly didn’t even know what advice to give him. At that time, I was single, so I was looking at it from a different angle. I quietly stayed close by, hoping maybe luck would shine on me too. In my mind, I was like, “If I get there, I will cross that bridge.” But nothing came my way. Instead, she moved around to other Nigerian guys, making similar offers. Before we knew it, the news had spread, and we had an emergency “meeting.” The conclusion was simple: nobody should get involved.

We remembered several stories online involving consent issues, accusations, and legal trouble. Everyone became careful. The truth is, many of the men wanted the experience, but they also understood the danger. Nobody wanted to risk their future over a few minutes of enjoyment. At one point, she sat in front of me and kept flirting with a married colleague. I even saw her hand on a grey area on his trousers while they were whispering. But even he couldn’t go further.

Eventually, she got frustrated, made some calls, and left. The event ended shortly after that. I ordered my taxi and went home. Two days later, she came to work like nothing happened. She claimed she didn’t remember anything from that night. Honestly, that shocked me. That was when it really hit me. That night, nobody touched her, but the lesson touched all of us for the rest of our lives.

What if I had taken the chance? What if something had happened and she later claimed I took advantage of her? What would have been my fate? At that time, I was still owing my mother millions of naira for sponsoring my trip abroad. How would I have explained myself?

A situation like that might not even be taken seriously in Nigeria, but in the UK, it’s a completely different ball game.

If you find yourself in such a situation, just know that the consequences can follow you for life. A few minutes of enjoyment is not worth destroying your future. Yes, things in the UK can be uncertain, but there are real opportunities here if you stay focused and patient.

I’m not supporting what Qudus Ajeyemi did, but I can’t lie, part of me feels for him. Coming to the UK at 27 gives you enough time to build your life properly before marriage and other responsibilities come in.

Sadly, he just missed an open goal. He missed the train, and the train doesn't stop twice.

Lots of people would blame him.

You come to his defence and you're likely to be labelled a wapist.

Truth is, his orientation/culture failed him.

Unfortunately, that's not a legal excuse when you are not wealthy and from.an African nation.

The law should consider if someone is truly a menace to society when such cases are judged.

There were indeed mitigating circumstances, but Shugbon, nobody wants to heat that.

She was intoxicated, therefore incapable of giving consent. It doesn't matter if she offered herself to you. Once she is not of clear and sound mind at the time when she made offer, she is incapable of giving consent and having intercourse with her in that state is taking advantage of her.

You should count yourselves lucky that none of you allowed lust blind your common sense, else you would have made the news for the wrong reasons.

Re: She Came, She Offered, We Panicked: True Story From The UK by GloriousGbola: 7:52pm On Jun 18
He left his wallet while he went to the toilet. As a sharp guy I helped myself to some money from it. He is a careless guy and he would not miss the money anyway

His phone was unlocked so I quickly used sms to send myself some needed cash

When you have no morals you will see anything as an opportunity. A responsible adult will protect a person who is intoxicated.

An animal will take advantage of the situation.

You want to be an animal, stay in Nigeria. It is that simple.

I didn’t care to read about the other guy’s case. Nairaland is deleting comments and banning people in that thread. Make I dey my dey.

In your instance, na so oyibos be. It took me three of such instances to understand that the average Brit is timid in nature. Their real selves come out when drunk. Their women are a case study. One will hit you up on Facebook, collect your number then tell you to come over and service her. Halfway into your journey, she’ll call to cancel the invite, claiming that she helped herself with toys.

The woman remembered everything that took place. Her plan was to punish the person who fell for the trap. That way, she’d get the enjoyment of a BBC and the ego boost of destroying his future afterward. When next her thing tingles, she’ll do it all again to another unsuspecting victim.

If you or the other guy had touched her or slept with her, she would remember it, she set a trap for you guys but thank God you escaped
The face she carried the following day saying she didn't remember anything was a blatant lie!

Okay madam Ishi...

Would a crime be written off because the criminal was drunk? And therefore "incapable" of making coherent choices?

I get your point though. The law never makes sense oftentimes...

I would generally say with all of them, intoxicated or not, be very very very careful! Delilah wasn't intoxicated, neither was Herodias...be careful...I can't stress this enough.
Most of them on earth are but kids in adult bodies...be careful!

Once a western woman is drunk, please do not even think about it, nothing good will come out of it.

I believe there is slightly more to this story than detailed but he can't defend himself as he knew the lady was drunk.

Drunk western ladies have no filter and do have a way of saying the most flirty, erotic things. You just, as a black man, have to know you are dealing with "bad market".

Omo no matter how tempted you are, do not have sex with an intoxicated person. That is just trouble you are looking for.

Even in Nigeria it's only an irresponsible person would try to have a sex with a drunk lady.
Re: She Came, She Offered, We Panicked: True Story From The UK by Pythagoras001: 9:16pm On Jun 18
avoiding one night stand would save you from any future wahala. if you want to knack either enter into a relationship or pay an escort. if you must have sex ensure she has had no drink and their is explicit consent either written or on record to avoid stories that touch. alot of people don't remember what they do when they are drunk and if they find you on thier bed when they wake especially when they don't find you attrcative OYO

I agree that this is still the law now. Fine. And any man who does it in this situation, na him sabi...e don enter am.

Now, lets talk real. Are you people for real really? A responsible lady got drunk to the extent of not making a decision for herself. Should she get to that state? And do you all think everyone of these ladies dont pretend? To me, she deserves a resounding slap...andnif she tries to say 'pee', make dem land am another one. Afternthey can focus on the guy. And as soon as the guy is giving his punishment, they should land the useless girl another dirty slap. It must be knocked into her indomie brain 🧠 to be responsible.

The thing is that this life and law are flexible. It used to be a man's world in these nations just as it is still in Naija, but one day, it flipped. It will flip again because these ladies will soon over do it. And na slap dem go dey use reset the brain of ladies like that.

Even sef, a responsible lady should not even defend them. Sorry...I have not said you are irresponsible ooo. I see it that you are just explaining the law. But i would be careful not to even explain the law cos it is so irritating. I would rather be silent in this situation because you cannot be in this situation. No matter what? Or can you get your yourself drunk to the state you are vulnerable to sexual abuse? Lets think deep na.

What shocked me was the part they say Qudus only touched her twice when she was tipsy on the bed.
Just touch with hand o and not a touch with his preeq and they quickly register him as a sexual offender and sentence him to 5 years imprisonment for attempted rape. They don't even want to know if that touch was meant to adjust her sleeping position on the bed or to spread blanket on her.

Just 2 touches on a drunk lady made him popular for the wrong reasons and his life kept crashing.
Re: She Came, She Offered, We Panicked: True Story From The UK by ashawopikin(m): 9:33pm On Jun 18
I have never and will never take advantage of someone who is intoxicated as i like sex reach, once a woman tell me "No" or "Stop" my preek don go down. The very few oyibo girls I've known are beautiful facially but no really get nyash so i wasn't sexually attracted to them.

You don't touch people without their consent.
You need to see how careful people here are, to make sure they do not touch you even when having friendly conversation with you.
